This isn't some over the hill journeyman, Leverkusen genuinely want him to stay. A team that won the Bundesliga and came 2nd in the last 2 seasons, won the cup and came 2nd in the Europa League, came 6th in the Champions League table and got to the last 16. Unbelievable.
I just hope Leverkusen play ball. They may not take too kindly to his agent gobbing off to the press. Just imagine for a second the role's were reversed, we'd be pissed off and expect the club not to roll over. That said, we would also do whats best for the player. So likely we would agree the deal. Lets hope Leverkusen do the same. To me they're a proper club so I'm hopeful they should.
Have to say, in my over 62 years of actively supporting this club, don't think I can remember a time when we actually instigated a plan to realise the potential of this great club... Whatever happens next season KLD deserves full credit for breathing life into this sleeping giant, as a fan, its great to see
IIRC, they wanted €12m at first, hope we can strike a deal for that now he has told them he wants a deal closed quickly
I often joke to my kids that knowing my luck, I will probably croak it just as we hit the heights and become great again. Got to say I’m getting a bit worried now!
Just seen someone on Twitter say there’s no chance we stay up because we’re going on like we’ve signed class players but they couldn’t start for city or Liverpool. Wish I was joking
I didn't realise KLD is still only 27. And he's basically built his own premier league club from a pile of rubble lying on a bed of steaming ****. We owe that young man an incredible debt.
What's great for me is the fact that we're building and running S.A.F.C. sustainably using earned income streams . . . . we're not cheating or using blood/dirty money like 'City, Chelski or the Skunks. It might not work, but however much success we have (or don't have) we're doing it the right way that will be respected universally, and it's making us even more proud of our club than we already were
