I'd say today is all about battening down the hatches to avoid us sinking! Acun threw everything at it financially when he felt Rosie might get us up, it failed, and now he's having to pick up the pieces. There's a lot worse owners out there, however the EFL don't apply transfer embargoes without what they consider a valid reason.

I think three is a tad optimistic. With the kids we need an Alan Hansen type figure on City's case.

If it wasn't blue some would say it's Acun's fault.

I’d probably argue a lot of ours were similar given Acun’s lofty unrealistic ambitions though:

Vital income is needed for cash flow. Acun taking this money out doesn’t really help him or the club as it will send us further into a spiral.

He needs cash quickly and also to get spending under control. Reducing the squad size (high earners) will help with wages and perhaps inject some cash from sales.

Even if the fee restriction was lifted, I don’t think we should be spending anything.

The sentiment here would carry much more weight if he hadn’t had such a mediocre season with AFC Wimbledon in League 2.

Im not sure if he had other things going on to mitigate this, but Furlong as a back up to Giles isn't our strongest area.

Premier League loan incoming I think is most likely.

Bottom feeder journalists and faceless twitter accounts jumping in and reporting rubbish to make a situation seem worse than it is. Eg City doing a structured deal, like most deals are done now, but reporting it as 'only this much up front'. Since when was this a way to relay the figure?

It is like those weather reports that now show scorching red parts of the UK to ramp up the fear of global warming. Just have a nice green map of the UK and a picture of the sun with 28 next to it please. No need for drama.

I missed out the word 'practice' after the word good. You're right, nothing to be getting excited about but they are dealing with the situation using the best possible method in my opinon.

There’s a different between instalments for a transfer fee and add-ons though. If the fee for Alzate is £1.5 million plus add-ons, it would probably mean three yearly instalments of £500,000 and any add-ons are performance-based. Same principle with Jones. ‘Well below £3 million’ probably means it’s closer to the fee reported to Alzate, payed in three or four instalments of £500,000 plus add-ons.

The initial fee is still important for PSR purposes as it’s how much we can bank as profit.
