Couldn't care one bit its a 3 year deal and not 2. If he keeps us up, he was worth the extra money. And he will be brilliant in the dressing room even if Sadiki (for example) becomes our first choice in his position. If we go down, he'll leave anyway.
really selfish of Xhaka to declare his love to Sunderland just before this was scheduled to go out but our Lucumi thread is live
Kyril probably just told him the kind of house a few million gets you in the north east in comparison to London
Nah, dire actually. Slow as anything. Moves like he's made out of... some sort of rock. Great body though like he's chiselled from... basalt.
What if Keith's intel that "we are waiting on the green light for a signing" is true, but that it's NOT Xhaka? "waiting for a green light" sounds a lot more advanced than needing to agree a fee with Leverkusen....
Was literally a key player for Arsenal what 3 years ago? As they nearly won the league. Incredible bit of business for us like, could of definitely got bigger wages elsewhere or even stayed at Leverkusen. Will be quality for at least a year if not 2 if not 3. Kind of stunned we even targeted him, feels way out of reach but here we are. Think the fans will love him and I think he'll love it here. Feels like a perfect fit.
I honestly don’t think Keith would tweet that without any form of substance tbf mate, his tweet suggests talks with Bayer are positive and actually a bit more advanced
He was a key player at Leverkusen 2 years ago when they were invincibles and again last season when they came 2nd.
Breaking news on SSN now Sunderland on verge of striking an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Granit Xhaka
I think you misunderstand my point.... What if there's a second signing that was more advanced that we're waiting for the "green light" on. He says he now assumes its Xhaka. What if it's another?
Unbelievable signing if we get it over the final hurdle. All the young lads will learn loads from him . Crazy crazy times. If xhaka does sign, I stand by what I said about Neil, but if he doesn't want to stay, push himself and learn from xhaka then it definitely starting to feel like his loss more than ours. Even though I still say Neil will become a top player if he keeps his head down.
He's three players in one … … our most experienced PL player, instant respect from everyone in football, automatic captain. I’d be surprised if the captaincy wasn’t part of the discussion with KLD tbh. “So Granit, do you think the captain should be A - Neil, B - Hume C - Someone else?”
