Erm… Showing to the EFL that we are making attempts to get our finances under control. Hopefully reducing wages - not sure if Jones/Mclaughin v’s 2 x free transfers balances out? Getting Sinik, Omur, Mehlem and Alzate off the wage bill must have a big impact anyway.
Don't forget its Acun who is responsible for everything, from buying and selling players to the quality of the paper in the printer.
No ****. This is how every transfer works, unless you’re paying a release clause everyone pays well below the “final figure”.
We owe £22m in fees because we’ve done the exact same as what Boro have done. That could be payable tomorrow or in 4 years, or never as it could be performance related. That’s football. Our issue now is creating cash flow not just for now but for those future obligations.
Exactly. When you're down even little wimps will try and find a small stick to hit you with. It's more good business for the situation we find ourselves in. Hate Acun for putting us here all you want, many feel that's justified, but don't hate on the guys trying to sort it out by bringing in cash for back up players and trying to reduce the wage bill to make the squad more manageable and affordable.
i appreciate this is not forefront of the brains team priorities , but Jones is my daughters favourite player. I thInk mostly because it was the only name she could pronouce when she first came at 5 years old. I am wondering if i should break the news about Santa Claus first, then telling her about Jones might not come as quite so much of a blow. on the plus side she might lose interest now and let me cancel and save some money.
Yes,I'm not disputing that the wage bill is being trimmed, much like the experience in the squad.By the same token,I wasn't asking about getting our finances under control,I'm sure most of us are fully aware that he's got us up to our neck and desperate measures are beginning to kick in. I was asking you what the 'vital income' is for, considering we can't spend money on players ? Are we going to be in a position of actually using it when this 'mistake'/unfortunate error is cleared up last week(sic)?.Ask yourself why,if we've done nothing wrong and Acun was 'talking about' coming out swinging,we're having to show the EFL any proof that we're making attempts to 'get our finances under control',(if we actually are). Just for clarity I'm of the opinion that the "vital income" is going straight into his bank account because he realises his personal fortune is at risk here and he's looking to lighten the blow.
I think the point is the 3m includes add ons, not just the structure of payment. I suspect one add on would be promotion, who knows how realistic that one is.
We're at least 3 years away from being anywhere near competitive in this league unless its under new stewardship. Next season, guaranteed Hughes and Pandur will be leaving and under any restriction we will been left with a team of misfits. If they get the chance then the new starlets Pharelll Brown and McCarthy will be a target too. We're being picked apart, not by a Premiership team but by ****ing Blackburn and Middlesbrough.
I'd say today is all about battening down the hatches to avoid us sinking! Acun threw everything at it financially when he felt Rosie might get us up, it failed, and now he's having to pick up the pieces. There's a lot worse owners out there, however the EFL don't apply transfer embargoes without what they consider a valid reason.
