Knapper employs Thorup on a 3 year transition - after 6 months Owner changes that. I call that interference. Is it the same with the squad? That is why I put question marks after my suggestion.
Attanasio is on record saying he did not initiate the managerial change; it was Knapper. And according to Attanasio, he and his colleagues at Norfolk Group were "surprised". Knapper made the case to the owners, and they felt they had to back him as "the expert" in the situation. The question was raised directly with Attanasio on last week's Pink'Un podcast: Attanasio's account chimes with what the Pink'Un reported at the time, that it was Knapper who instigated JHT's removal. The only source I know of who said it was instigated by the owners was the BBC's Nick Mashiter on X, in a tweet that was later deleted.
According to the PinkUn we could sign Pape Diallo in the next 48hours, another report I’ve seen said he will be arriving tomorrow for his medical
The same version was also stated at the fans forum. According to Attanasio's interviews and statements, his inputs have focused on building the data systems and providing funds for player acquisitions.
Forgive me but if an American Businessman told me the time I would double check it and in any event they were only talking about the eventual sacking - not the change in direction.
It seemed a shame we couldn't keep hold of Dobbin, but on the back of a few videos and no further knowledge, I'm ready to get excited about Diallo now
We should ask Watford for their medical results for him and save time and trouble doing it ourselves.
The data systems development side is highly relevant to all this. BK's value to Attanasio in that respect makes it highly unlikely MA would want to override any Knapper recommendation on the football side.
I agree, Robbie. I wanted to underline the point that JHT's sacking was down to Knapper, not Attanasio, who has gone on record as being against changing managers often.
Jeffrey Schlupp is being touted as the experienced left back/left midfielder to come in while the likes of Chrisene, Mahovo and McLean work back to full fitness. Just looking at ex-Norwich left backs who are available - 29 year old Harry Toffolo or 27year old Jamal Lewis are both free agents, but I think they are probably looking for more long term deals than we would likely be offering given Manning has said he doesn’t want to block Chrisene or Mahovos paths
He qualifies as home grown as well having grown up in England. Edit. Having been capped by Ghana would be still qualify as home grown?
And I need to underline the point that I was not talking about the sacking but the change in direction following the meeting in America with the Owner. I will accept as a generality that I was happy when the Club was owned by Delia and Michael but I will never be happy at my Club being owned by an American Businessman.
