After winning a domestic trophy last season for the first time in 70 years. After qualifying for the CL for the second time in three seasons. After not selling any of our top players. Your post refers to the ‘entitled’ fans and I would be more than happy for them to f**k off and support someone else if I’m being perfectly honest.
I think people are right in asking questions about the DoF debacle, one new signing in two years and a CEO entering his 12th month of “working his notice”. We last qualified for the UCL and didn’t add enough players so went on to have a struggle. We’re supposed to be past PSR challenges, but are finding it even harder in spite of Howes incredible achievements. He deserves better, let alone the fans, but I think we all just want to know what the **** is going on.
It’s ****ing exhausting watching Newcastle dither and delay. Gk: is Nick Pope (or Dubs, Ruddy and Gillespie) better than Trafford, Chevalier, Verbruggen, Costa, Perri, Svilar and **** knows how many others? No. So why the **** can’t we buy one? CB: is Schar better than Silva, Van Hecke, Alexsandro, Scalvini, Garcia, Zabarnyi and **** knows how many others? Not a chance, so why the **** can’t we buy one? CF, same, CM, same. I completely understand the lack of desire to just fill with bodies but there are so many players it beggars logic that we can’t find anyone. This weird notion that we somehow can’t upgrade Schar, Pope, Willock and can’t replace Wilson, Trippier, Longstaff because the players don’t exist is a complete mindfuck to me.
I see the club has had the nerve to release more kit/ stuff on the website and increase ticket prices. No doubt pointing to PSR. I'm positive that the clubs have got together and colluded to justify price increases. Villa charging nearly £100 for tickets for the opening game v us. ****ing joke.
The leadership at the club are a disgrace at the moment. They haven’t been this out of touch since Bruce was appointed manager.
I’m not saying there may or may not be grounds for complaining. We’ll honestly never know the answer to that. It was the suggestion that a marquee signing was required for some fans to be back on side which I was taking issue with. That smacks of entitlement. People can complain. I have no issue there but any complaint, for me, would need to be rational, reasonable and credible with some substance and evidence to support it. If any fans were giving up and complaining about where we are and what’s been happening recently then that is not rational, reasonable nor credible and it’s those so called fans who can get lost.
Ah, yes, fair enough. Honestly if someone like Elanga is £55m then I think all fans need to temper their expectations or **** off if they can’t!!
Evidence is all around to be honest.. We have no CEO, No Sporting Director, No stadium or training ground plans. No playing the sysfems to our advantage and no real plan or direction except chairman saying to be no 1. What we do have is PIF and Saudi teams throwing millions at our rivals whilst we argue about commercial deals that should or shouldn't be made. As a fan if you ate not concerned then you bloody well should be as the signs are not good.
Seem to remember similar sentiments from you not long before we won the League Cup and then qualified for the CL. Bit of a panicker. We have a CEO. So you’re wrong on that one. we haven’t had a Sporting Director for about 95% of our existence so I ain’t getting concerned about that. we have plans for both Stadium and Training Ground, we just haven’t published them yet. Timing is everything. So you’re wrong on that one as well. So we maintain integrity and don’t ‘play the system’. I prefer that anyway. we have no real plan or direction EXCEPT…. You honestly couldn’t make it up. So we’ve got it down to ‘we don’t play the system’ and for that we should be bedwetting. Yep, entitled, definitely entitled.
Tino is in ****ing incredible shape mind. Him and Hall this season, for all the signing issues, will be immense.
