It wasn’t one game. He had the most assists for us, he also plays many pass to assist. He works his bollocks of every game and is a victim of a slight imbalance and lack of support on that side. He can definitely be upgraded but this viewpoint I only ever see online and it’s almost verbatim every time. We should thank our stars his ball retention is so good, as we don’t set up to support him inside, like we did with Amad. If we had a RM who lost the ball quickly, we’d be counter attacked like crazy and likely wouldn’t have been near the playoffs. He’s always an easy target, cos nobody else is consistently in the team enough with his ability to compare him to. We’d have been a far weaker side for the last few years without Paddy, that’s a fact.
May be in the middle he doesn’t have to try too many killer balls, he’s already in the danger zone. All opinions marra, I think he’s class back up and will mature in the middle more than he could out wide. If our young up and coming players can learn from the new quality coming in so can Robert’s. Remember his assists and chances made are good but go under the radar cos his actual shooting isn’t even at my level.
One game? Top assists all season mate. Not one game. And often not evolved non goal build ups too. Frustrating with his shooting (pretty crap really) but his quality is there and obvious if you watch instead of blinkering yourself
Fair point, quality is there. Just very frustrating when he tries one too many tricks. Just saying that he carnt afford to do that in the top league. However , I'd rather keep him them sell him. Id probably put him in the centre of midfield now that pace is wavering.
I thought Lauriente must have failed the medical, but read on yahoo that Sassuolo now wanted near to £25M. Then I read another media article saying different, that it was his personal terms that caused the transfer to collapse. Either way, I guess our recruitment team decided not to be messed about and ended it there rather than negotiate.
Looks like the player or his agent wanted more late on. The player had agreed to come. He had said his goodbyes. Sassuolo said the deal was done. We allowed the message to be put out that the deal was done, in the usual way. It was publicly known that the player was coming for a medical. When all of that happens, it's just forms to fill in, very minor details. No way would we have allowed it to get that far and changed our offer. It was either a marginal medical call, which seems not to be the case, or an agent trying it on. It's probably just another agent doing the wrong thing by his player in pursuit of more for himself.
