There's a rumour going around that we're trying to sell him to get decent money. But I'd rather keep him. You don't sell one of your best players unless you've already got a replacement.
I like this policy of signing 18-19 year olds. No money spent, but a potential for future profits. Much easier to get behind them than the likes of Harry Redknapp's mercenary ****s.
Kelman has played for US U20s and U18s, but not sure how American he really is. Any luck this will spark a bidding war. If he doesn’t want a contract extension we have to sell him. Not that I’m sure he’s been offered one.
Whilst we have to acknowledge we are a selling club, it does seem the Rangers way to sell exactly the sort of player we have been searching for He could be the missing piece in the goalscoring puzzle that propels us to the promised land, or he could underachieve and leave on a free next year Will probably bang in 30+ in the MLS
He only qualifies to play for the US because he played youth football at FC Dallas. Strange criteria. He was actually born in Basildon. I was hoping he would be like a new striker for us but if we get an half decent offer we should sell him. No goals in 23 appearances for us.
Charlotte sold Agyemang to Derby for a reported $8m plus add-ons. If they offered us half of that, we should probably take it.
Maybe you're right, maybe he cant cut it at Championship level, the same way Wrexham offloaded Mullin to Wigan I would like to believe in the romanticised version where he ends up top scorer in the league this season, kisses the badge and leaves to Man U for £60m
Agreed. If you have a player that fits the bill, keep him. This is why we can't sell Nardi and shouldn't be selling Kellman, unless someone offers an amount you can't refuse. But can anyone imagine getting enough for Kellman to purchase a player who is a proven goal scorer? As I put it before, if someone told you that we were about to sign a young striker who scored 24 goals in a League 1 team last season, you'd be biting their hands off for him. And yet, we have such a player. 24 goals for a League 1 team has got to convert into a decent number in the Championship. Even if it was ten less (14), would we be sniffing at that?
Kelman wasn't even in the strongest team. Birmingham paid £15m (potentially rising to £20m with add-ons) for Jay Stansfield. He only scored 19 last season.
I agree with this mate but I feel he doesn't want to stay here. He hasn't changed any of his social media pics etc back to QPR stuff which I find very odd unless he doesn't want to be here. I just feel he is off because he doesn't want to stay. It is a real shame if we don't see what he can do at this level after his great season below.
The way we set up and played last season wouldn't have suited any striker on the planet hence one of our top scorers being the 'own goal'. We provided little to no service to anyone who played up top, isolated, often tracking in his own half. Hopefully Julien will give a little more freedom to our attacking players and with the vast improvement in ability on the right wing with Poku, then a striker might have more joy for us. Whether that's Kelman, Celar or Frey is anyone's guess.
I think he’s done enough that unless we’re signing a striker for proper money he gets a run at the start of the season. If the club have indicated he’s second fiddle to Celar as it stands then I’d be pissed off too. He probably fancies his chances of making it to the World Cup with a good season in the MLS or this league and he’s at an age where he’s not going to be content not starting most games whatever level he’s at. A year left on his contract, probably on not great money and his stock is high. I get it if that is the case at all.
