So Wales lose in Japan - down to 14th in the World rankings Always likely to lose with so many players away with the Lions ….. Sherrat’s ‘biased’ squad selection and Cardiff centric coaching team are a joke. Tierney has enabled this - she should resign.
Pretty poor performance - although on second thoughts I should add that pretty in this context doesn’t mean ‘good looking’…..
Well it's still the warm-ups, that's what they're there for I suppose. A game like that is not a bad thing to focus the minds of the coaches.
The WRU are in a shocking state. Can the clubs force some change? If not, this will end in total disaster.
Great performance from the Lions today. Selection tough for the first test, although the Irish players will be favoured. And Wales won a game
Yes - watched both. I thought for a second that Wales were going to blow it again, but Dan’s try settled it. As for the Lions, if Jac doesn’t get selected then it means that Farrell (like Woodward before him) had picked his Test Team before they left …..
As I said above, we did our best to repeat last week’s defeat by letting them come back to 24-22, but there were more Ospreys on the park this week and the boys not only held out but scored a decisive try. That said, I don’t see us winning a game in the next Six Nations unless we sign up a top international coach and he can attract Wales qualified players (well anyone who has eaten a Leek should be sufficient to be Wales qualified )
Emperor Hirohito, Yoko Ono, Ken Wantanabe, Izzy Miyake, Shinzo Kagawa, Shiggy Konno …. Your boys took a helluva beating
Newspapers reporting that Curry will start at Number 7. I'd love for Jac to be a test Lion but this will just make it easier for me to root for the Aussies..
Strange one that, Curry's been mediocre. Looks like Farrell has a "formula" and wants to play players he thinks will fit it. If you think about it, as good as Ireland have been, it's pretty much a rigid system of play, that works for them.
As expected, Jac didn't even make the bench. "It means there are no Welshmen in a Lions squad for a Test against traditional opponents Australia, New Zealand or South Africa for the first time since 1896"
So Steve Tandy is the new Welsh Coach. In some respects I’m delighted for Steve and his wife Karen - both genuinely very nice people, but in other respects I ‘fear’ for him. The current crop of players is poor and if results are remain awful, the media and public will turn on him, and I wouldn’t want that for Steve, Karen and their daughters. That said, it must be the ultimate want for a professional coach to be appointed as Coach of one’s country so good for him. Being a successful Defence Coach is one thing, being the Head Coach is entirely different, as he found out at the Ospreys where there were concerns about the team structures and game plans that he implemented: hopefully, he has learnt from that experience
