Transfer Sector? Lol. Maybe when he's 35 Isak may go to Saudi, but he sure as feck ain't gonna ruin his career by doing it when he's 25.
Linked with Diogo Costa and what happens? Man City of course. The club cannot keep crying about PSR if they aren't going to do anything about it. Sell the women's team, sponsor the stadium/ training kit, the ****ing kettles. Or go nuclear and just spend the money, break the rules and tell the PL to **** off.
City can't get both Costa and Trafford. I don't think we're for sale, but the owners don't necessarily care enough to want to do that, they're not an individual like Marinakis. The women's team are too ****, for all Chelsea inflated their price and Villa did similar, both are WPL clubs and Chelsea, in particular, have won the lot. But regardless, there's plenty to spend as we've seen from the bids. The question isn't about money, or ambition, or achievement - it's about the current scouting and why it's not working in the context of our clubs limitations. However I looked at last summers transfers. Of all the moves, I think there's maybe 2 or 3 "successes" but they all came at a lower level. Bergvall, Stand Larsen and Todibo. The last two were loans. So nobody is doing particularly great, it's just a bit weird that after two barren windows we can't muster the ability to find some gems.
Anyway, in the hope we can sign someone, latest rumors are Kolo Muani, Alvarez and Biereth. First two seem incredibly unlikely, but the third, a £30m forward, 22, at Monaco seems more possible.
We should be all over that but I doubt we are, we only have two scouts and they apparently need 12-18 months to watch a player before deciding they’re worth a punt.
Costa would be a great signing but if Man City get him it likely leaves the door open for us to finally get Trafford
Apparently they’ve submitted a bid, so as you say once that’s sorted we should be clear. In amortisation terms I don’t get why we haggle like market traders mind, an extra £6m is basically £1m in PSR terms. If that’s who we really want, just pay the ****ing money. Pool had to cough up £80m for Ekitike, he’s really “worth” half that. Big teams just get players, that’s something we just miss, we moan about Saudi tax but there hasn’t been any bargains this window outside of decent release clauses (Delap, Huijsen). Tenuous link to Mateta in the last half an hour, can’t see Palace ever selling anyone to Newcastle. Again if true it’s another “what the **** do our scouts actually do” moment. Mateta, fresh off his best season, at a club who hate dealing with us. Why the **** would we even bother?
Alvarez would be amazing, and yes - very unlikely. We're also being linked to Evann Guessand from Nice for around £30m, who looks handy.
Even though he's a Danish international Mika Biereth was born in England and counts as homegrown having come through the Fulham youth setup, he'd actually be a shrewd signing as he's currently just as good and has as much potential as Rory Delap. His goal record has been very good since he's been getting game-time over the last few years in Austria & France... Height 1.87 m (6 ft 2 in) 2023–2024 → Motherwell (loan) 14 (6) 2024 → Sturm Graz (loan) 15 (5) 2024–2025 Sturm Graz 16 (11) 2025– Monaco 16 (13)
For someone very vocal about Sportswashing he's determined for PSG to buy Isak. Delaney clearly has a problem with the Saudi's. Bordering on racist. MBS must have shagged his mrs or something.
19 goals in 89 appearances for Nice. For a CF that is pants. Scored 3 in 30 appearances for Nantes while on loan. If the mackems are linked with him then it says a lot.
