I’d forgot about the Greens Ps that was the last election though, that was when we had hope that labour were going to change things, far worse s hit show than the Tories and that took some saying.
I don’t think it is worse, I’ve seen some more capable management of things in the day job, I think they’ve done foreign affairs better and negotiated better partnerships but there is some kind of avoidance of the big issue. Getting cash into the coffers needs us to get it from the tax dodgers and wealthy. Not from the vulnerable. Do the big stuff before the little stuff. Make it fair and right. They have it in the wrong order. The Tories and Reform would have done the same mind, this is possibly less savage in reality but still not good enough. I just hope the protest turns Green and Yellow away from the Eton grifter and his tax avoiding mates.
I’m always hearing the Tories would do the same, I’m not so sure, I remember before the Tories got in this forum was full of lads saying they were going to slash benefits, it was quite heated. I can honestly say I’ve never heard one of them say that happened after they got in. They also gave oap’s the £300 heating allowance which was quickly removed under Labour, also all the benefits were going to be slashed to the people who needed them until their own Mp’s revolted, They then tried to make out they listened and that’s the sign of a caring party They didn’t mention Starmer wasn’t one of them against it though, he was all for it, he’s a rich two faced slimy twat like all the others who voted for it.
I’m not defending Starmer, absolute twat he is and those back room slimeballs like McSweney, but the unaffordable Tory give out in their last year to try and bribe some voters combined with post covid and a dreadful Brexit deal meant the budget was such that it was either tax the rich or tax the poor. There’s no doubt it would have been **** this time round, but Labour made the wrong choices. Quite simply, get the money off people who don’t need it, if you’re denying the Tories would have defended the rich you’re deluded. Reform will go the opposite way, they’ve already said it.
Something else as well, I can’t be the only one who thinks he’s looking more like the pissed up old boy on the Fast Show or Brian Clough when he was on his way out. Shiny puffed up rosy face, bit to much House of Commons whisky I’d guess.
Have the Tories not always defended the rich? It’s Labour and Labour only you should be worrying about the Tories can’t do any damage, neither can reform until after the next election. Labour has 4 years mate and at the moment it looks like Reform will piss it without doing anything.
Remember the barge that got shut down, all the fuss about it like it was alcatraz, that place had a doctor, chef, gym etc onboard, I take it you could disembark and free roam. These people on boats are usually men in their 20's and 30's abandoning their families and also maybe avoiding national service. Some are family 'scouts', who's family have clubbed together the money, so they can claim asylum genuinely, once their kin get in. They've entered by illegal methods, unlike genuine asylum seekers who have gone through proper channels. Australia were being put under the cosh about it. You implied the Tories weren’t as bad mate not me. That last comment is why I’m absolutely fuming at Starmer and McSweeney. Our best hope is they get pushed.
We do need to tighten security but tax dodgers are the bigger risk. If they paid fair share we could improve our services, including border security. It needs paying for, from people who can afford to fund it.
I believe I implied correctly, you don’t agree, Let me know of any poor person who is better off now than under the Tories, I know people now who are 90 years old and are now paying income tax because the tax threshold hasn’t been raised, and they haven’t got a clue what is happening.
Tbh the age thing is misguided. If 90year old have 100’s and thousands and families have nowt and there are no youth services I’m not that bothered. It’s providing services to the vulnerable that bothers me. Maybe you should listen to the Tory leader on her views towards the vulnerable then you won’t need to debate with me.
Why would the 90 year olds I’m on about have hundreds of thousands. They’ve never paid tax since they retired and don’t understand why they are getting tax demands just because they’ve gone over the threshold. Whenever anyone talks to you, you always have to take everything to the extreme, these are ordinary oap’s not millionaires
I honestly don’t know what you mean so hard to argue either way. What I’m saying is some OAP’s have shedloads of money. Some pensioners are minted and eilnmoass it down to minted descendants while others suffer. OAP’s is emotive like they are always grannies living off coins. There isn’t a standard OAP. I think all families should suffer less so happy for some to lose some money. Not happy for those who really need it or have high care bills. Protect those who need protecting. Including children snf families. You’d argue a cat was a dog for a row.
