Syria has been that way since it was the Assyrian empire back in 2,000 BCE and they went around murdering all their neighbours, been tit-for-tat ever since, 200 generations of getting eyes for eyes.

lol, love the corporate speech "We don't sell directly to Israel, our main customer is UK armed forces", I read that as they sell them to Israel via a 3rd party.
Simple really, the Israelis had British and American weapons and the Arabs had Russian and if I remember French weapons Only one possible outcome there
Jordan had US and British planes and weapons. Egypt had by far the largest and most modern army, but it was Soviet backed. Israel's equipment came mainly from France and Britain. The USA's decision to basically ensure Israeli military supremacy developed in the aftermath of the 1973 Yom Kippur war.
****ing typical... instead of putting your hands up and owning / admitting it, you attempt deflection via a red herring ... fishy as **** ...
I might be mistaken but i believe most of the minority groups (druze, Christians, alawites, Kurds initially) were pro assad as they were all scared of what a sunni majority would do to them, something we are seeing playing out (we will know in a few years time). I agree though, the majority of syria even pre civil war was sunni i believe. It was only assads military in power that kept him in place but the minority groups were happier with him than the unknown sunni powers.
