I said a while back it’s an opportunity for players to show what they can do and also Burstow, Joseph and some of the younger ones to get a chance and we may unearth a gem, well seems like the new manager has and is very happy with some.
I think kamara will be on his way next, in the airport he never spoke to anyone or socialised with any teammates etc. stood out like a sore thumb apparenrly. Gaffa wasn’t overly impressed with him yesterday either
Get Burstow in Hardly play him - if we do put him on the wing Sell him to a team who plays him as a striker
Is that based on videos or someone you know who was on the trip? He’s always been a moody bugger though. Dean Marney was apparently the same. The issue is, we’re incredibly light on wingers as it is and can’t buy anyone for a fee. At this rate, we’ll be lining up against Coventry with Brown and Myers on the wings and McCarthy as a number 6. They’ve done well in pre-season but expecting these boys to start in an opening Championship game live on Sky is a huge amount of pressure.
As it stands, we’re incredibly light in certain areas of the pitch and the following players under contract have their futures in doubt or can’t play: Jones Ömür Kamara Alzate Puerta Laalaoui The latter three are concerning because they’re all central midfielders but one will probably go and the other two can’t be registered. It’s a right mess.
If we do have a thin squad that includes some of the younger squad and Jak manages to make them half competitive he better not get ****ing sacked at the end of the season.
But the big question is, what's the actual aim this season? Because I think it should be survival with a small progression along with substantially reducing the wage bill. Yet it sounds like the expectation is a lot higher, which changes the approach/strategy etc and not necessarily for the good.
Acun is clearly deluded. Everything he’s said this summer so far is akin to a gambler who is drowning in debt but thinks he can win big with the next hand. He thinks our squad has potential to be worth £100 million. He thinks a top 10 finish at a minimum and a push for the play-offs is a reasonable target for the new head coach. He is not a sane or rational person.
Getting rid of Slater if we intend to sell Alzate and Puerta and not signing Zambrano is absolute madness.
