Some normality is returning to lfc with videos and photos from training starting to return to the club website and new keeping coach being announced. They need to get down to work now and really sharpen up.
This might give some hints for the preseason tour. Lfc 8 celtic 0 Liverpool U21s first half: Misciur, Mabaya, Lucky, Williams, Beck, Stephenson, Gordon, Pilling, Koumas, Morrison, Kone-Doherty. Liverpool U21s second half: Misciur, Miles, Davidson (Pitt, 80), Pinnington, Nallo, Trueman, Ramsay, Laffey, Figueroa, Ahmed (Balagizi, 70), Onanuga (Cannonier, 70). Note no ngumoha, no nyoni. Local talent Davidson rb Pennington cb A few more but none will play for the club imo Bought in talent. Quite a few. Ones to watch? Figueroa Lucky Imo we will see ngumoha and nyoni on the plane and very very few others. Big squad will head for Asia.
Think Doak Nyoni and Ngumoha were the ones involved in the recent training video that came out which makes sense as they were all heavily involved in pre season game. Do wonder if Ngumoha is being seen as a potential squad player this year hence happier to sell Diaz and bring in a central striker. Wirtz szobo and Ngumoha being available for that LW spot with the later potentially getting cups and 10-15 minutes here and there to rest gakpo
A warm up to the tour was played today v stoke Liverpool first-half team: Mamardashvili, Gomez, Van Dijk, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Salah, Jones, Robertson, Wirtz, Ngumoha, Nyoni. Liverpool second-half team: Mamardashvili (Pecsi, 59), Endo, Konate, Chiesa, Gakpo, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, Doak (Stephenson, 74), Kerkez, Frimpong, Bradley. 5-0 win, 4-0 at ht with nunez scoring 3.
29 man squad for tour Squad: Alisson, Gomez, Endo, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Jones, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Robertson, Gravenberch, Doak, Woodman, Mamardashvili, Kerkez, Wirtz, Frimpong, Pecsi, Ngumoha, Misciur, Morton, Bradley, Stephenson, Nyoni. There are 5 keepers in that. There are 3 lbs but only 3 cbs. No nallo despite new contract. Kind of interesting I guess. Interesting other items are the presence of everyone touted as for sale so no imminent moves then.
tbh I'm think Nunez will probably stay now. Interest in him was either the Saudi's (who we've pissed off) or Napoli (who were just there to tour the house). I expect Diaz to be the one to leave. Firm interest in him from Bayern, player seemingly wanting the bigger wage move. If there can be a matching in price then we'll probably sell and keep Nunez. Then Ekitike comes in and Ngumoha rumored to be impressing Slot and Co who want to use him more
Highlight of the goals Frimpong played RW second half set up 2 chances with runs behind and low crosses into box. Nunez 2 poaches finishes in middle of the box and a decent finish after rebound to him. Deflected finish from Ngumoha
What are the odds on Nunez and Chiesa getting more goals in pre-season than they do in the league this year? Would be delighted if both did well for us this season.
Chiesa apparently small injury hence not travelling - weird as he played v stoke so only assume picked up small knock in that game and being assessed
