Anyone else heard this? a mate who is quite low level at the club says it’s all the chatter around SJP. Could PIF really be looking to sell so soon? perhaps they will buy a big 6 club to get up to the top table?
The Saudis selling would actually explain quite a bit..clearing the decks and just maintaining the club. Mike Ashley spent more in his last two years than the PIF of Saudi Arabia have in their last two years....something significant is happening imo.
First domestic trophy in 70 years and Champions League, combined with finally getting Wilson, Lewis and Longstaff off the books and making a £55m signing. "Clearing the decks"
You're only focusing on the pitch and not the business. Everyone has been jumping ship and the clubs made more money in sales than incomings for 2 years. It's maintenence at best.
Dan Ashworth proved he's a mercenary and jumped ship for Man U....then proceeded to mangled them from every angle with his signings. Mitchell never seemed like a good fit tbh. The issue is Staveley clearly had focus and drive and we've missed her impact.
Since he left the clubs done nothing though with recruitment... I think they've sold more thans been spent, so perhaps that's why he bailed. Mitchell bailed and now there's seemingly nothing happening, which is kinda odd considering we're supposed to be a club building something. I certainly wouldn't rule out a sake and it certainly won't surprise if it's another American... Another nail in footballs coffin. I definitely agree on Staveley... We miss her she sold the dream and now we are sold sweet fa.
We’ve been **** at recruitment, but £50n+ bids for Olise, Guehi, Pedro, Huijsen, Zabarnyi, Cunha and Ekitike along with our offer for Delap were, although misguided and call into question the ability of Andy Howe and Nickson again to do basic scouting well, do not show a team without ambition. That we’ve been unable to sign these players is a combo of every ****ing “big six” **** deciding they’ll just wait to see who we want before bidding, a slow process from Saudi (not helped by Eales having cancer and a lack of personal experience in the region) and us wanting to offer the right wages rather than vastly over inflating them just to get a player in. We might be in limbo a bit, finding our feet and unaided by uncertainty at board level, but we remain 3 good players from a team that can consistently compete. I don’t think we will get those players because of issues discussed elsewhere, which irks the **** out of me, but we don’t seem to be for sale.
