How many players do Newcastle actually need to sign then guys? At one time I thought 3 or 4, but they've since lost Wood longstaff almiron Kelly and Wilson. I mean the might not be great, but they surely still need replacing. Is the number not 7 or 8?
At one time we had Isak Wilson and Wood I think.. Now we have Isak and Osula so that position has been weakened significantly. Midfield? We've got 3 and the others are crap Defence? CB is a desperate area imo
For me it’s 3 first team plus two opportunistic others. Pope needs replacing, as does Schar and we need a striker. Then it’s someone dynamic to help more in midfield. Then we need versatility in defence. Thats where we are at but as we know from the Saudis we are usually 2 or 3 short every window of really kicking on, I expect the same this time. Fear they’ll settle for DCL, one of these young defenders who won’t play til 2026, and at a push a weird signing like Gallagher. Dreading another season with Nick Pope.
I don't understand what's difficult about the question I asked? I think we need 2 strikers for a start that's all.
Yeah I think Gallagher DCL just have Newcastle written all over them, but it's anyone's guess. They're going to get desperate soon and when that happens I think Newcastle choose to do nothing mind. I think even the most optimistic of us is worried deep down inside heading into 4 competitions with this squad.
Exactly I mean wood was a prem proven 1st team striker and so was Wilson at that time, so no way Osula replaces both of them sufficiently... Surely?
So you think we need 1 striker OK now can you calculate how many other players you think we need maybe?
Yeah 3 is the absolute minimum and they'd have to be 1st team players, but I think we really need at least 2 more that can do a job. I feel like I'm horrible at this point , but the likes of lascelles and Krafth are simply not good enough to play in the Premier league... Willock I think is sadly never going to be the same player before his injury and Osula is way off what's required on the evidence so far. I suppose there's hope for Willock and Osula.
