The clubs being stripped down to it's bare bones and kept neat and tidy ready for a sale imo... The major investment stopped quite some time ago and only maintenence is being carried out. I could be completely wrong, but there's certainly something significant going on and it's not going to end well.
It's definitely not. The issue with unfettered investment are the APT rules. The Man City judgement in APT2 will change that.
That doesn't explain everything I'm afraid.. There's not just a lack of investment. There's something going on. If Man City win apt 2 it won't surprise me if the PL simply votes in another set and on and on it will go.
Agree with that in terms of experiences of financial business with Saudis. Though what I then find baffling is the Saudi Pro League teams seem able to mobilise transfer deals swiftly - including mutliple transfers at once - when they want to. So why can't we? It's bizarre.
It does. The owners cannot invest their own money as it would fall under APT and fair market value. PIF own the likes of Aramco, Saudia etc and cannot sponsor us for £500 million per season as the unlawful rules would mean the PL would assess for far less. We can only invest what the club makes. That takes time.
This is where their interest is not Newcastle. I think Newcastle might even simply have been purchased to see how to run a club... There's certainly something not right.
You mentioned lack of investment. That's why. They aren't preparing to sell as to do so would be to admit defeat. Not in their DNA.
What I said was not just a lack of it, so you arguing just that is meaningless. I'm not against a sale if it's a good buyer anyway tbh.. We can't spend their money anyway. I could be wrong mate, but I might end up right. It's anyone's guess
We also have to bear in mind we won a pot and are back in the UCL, plus have Tonali, Isak, Bruno, etc., on the books. I think we have issues with speed and maybe focus from Saudi this past year or so, the Eales replacement situation is farcical as were both DoF's. However, we're also 4 players away from a potential go at the title. Where it looks broken is the guys at the club, like both Howe's and Nixon, have to be fully aware of our constraints yet are peddling Pedro and Ekitike as targets. It's a strange juxtaposition, we can either pay 'big 6' wages/fees, or we can't and need to cut our cloth. So something, somewhere is amiss and doesn't make sense.
The big 6 are out of our reach and the worst part is the middle order is being squeezed now from the **** at the bottom..Leeds and Sunderland are here to have a go unlike the **** promoted the last time.... Maybe they'll vote with us? Fingers crossed. The middle order like Newcastle Forest and villa get voted into oblivion from above and below.
Eales replacement needs to be announced. It's like we are in limbo due his unfortunate circumstances. Having said that, I never liked Eales. His cosying up to the fans was not genuine in the slightest. His replacement needs to be experienced particularly in regards to Saudi. Their red tape is likely why things are slow. They are notoriously difficult to deal with in business.
