This is a quote from Speakman in the Sunderland Echo after he signed, which clearly shows that the club see him as a RW but one that can play LW: "Predominantly playing wide right, Chemsdine excels in duels and possesses elite physical qualities, and he also has flexibility to play across the frontline."
It could be of course, that the player himself is the arsehole. He hasn't covered himself in glory with saussolo has he?
Yeah that's what I'm saying I wouldn't expect any of those u21s as good as they might be to be in the squad come match day 1, Onien and Cirkin are missing, also think Hjelde isn't up to it either and injured I'd want at least 2 cbs and a RB/LB - really like huggins so more than likely he adds real competition A centre mid A winger A striker
When people were laughing about his social media posts I cringed. Even if they’ve been bang out of order you still show a bit of class.
Maybe i'm wrong here but I thought Talbi was fine last night. The way our system worked it was always going to be Adingra having the majority of the ball, ELF was on that side feeding him. Had a couple of good runs and his defensive work was good. Think he'll be fine on both sides.
he absolutely may well be fine on the right. It’s silly to judge him after 45 mins of a pre season friendly. But I have anyway
He was totally fine, wingers are often so hard to judge when only playing 1 half He put in a shift for us and once he gets up to speed will be a cracking player
I used to hate playing on the wing because you are so much more dependent on other people making things happen for you.
I think also tactically it’s tricky for a right winger when the right back inverts into the holding midfield role like Hume was doing last night. We basically played without a right flank.
But the club see him as RW based upon that comment. Either way it is going to be useful that he can play both wings, as can Adingra, even if one side is stronger.
We were very lhs dominant last night, which certainly didn’t help Talbi. I wonder if the complete lack of natural left footers hindered him? Definitely missed the big switch from Luke to get him into space.
Agreed. I have absolutely no clue why so many people are assuming his agent asked for more money at the last minute and torpedoed the deal, makes zero sense. He flew in for a medical, and the next thing we hear the deal is off. Pretty ****ing obvious what's happened, imo.
If he's been in Serie B, I wonder what wage has he been on? If say £10k a week, will this cause us problems increasing it to more than say £20k - as it would upset Neil and Cirkin, who maybe in a similar pay band/ incremental increase issue? It will also be interesting to see what that other CB we were linked with who's on £7k, to what we agree on.
