One of the sad parts of supporting a team is when it’s time to say goodbye to long serving players in order to hopefully progress the club. It’d particularly hard when it’d such a nice, and decent guy like Bammy. We’ve already said goodbye to great guys like Kiichy, Coops, Luke Ayling and Pablo. All legends of the Bielsa era and made great by him. Unfortunately for Paddy, it came at a price. His injury record for last two seasons has been appalling and expensive. The fittest he managed to get was to make a few cameo twenty minute appearances from the bench and no club can afford the luxury of a player like that hogging one of the valuable spots in a twenty four man squad. Farke has undoubtedly made the right decision and also by going public with it. Paddy is a wealthy man and fair play to him. He’ll have a long career in media if he wants it, great tv personality. Maybe he’ll go north of the border and try reclaim some fitness. Personally I’m sad to see his Leeds career end this way but it was inevitable. Thanks for being part of the great Bielsa memories Paddy

The fans never treated him well, I know he he missed some sitters but they weren’t intentionally missed, he’s human and if he was on social media then I hope he managed to ignore the hatred

Some fans on social media certainly, but those same fans are clueless and talk mainly crap anyway. It was hard ar rimes though not to be critical but not in the way the loonies behaved

Always come across as a very decent bloke.

Infuriated me as a player as the talent is there but he never really seemed to do it when the pressure was on and it was needed.

Good luck to him wherever he goes. always will get a clap from me unless he scores against us lol. to be fair he should of went a season or two ago but obviously wages and injuries we had no chance of shifting him.
He's came back strong and has well bulked up will be a very good signing for a championship club.
    Best of luck Paddy.

Im no shrink but I always felt Bamford played the big confident leader but deep down lacked belief. His best goal scoring run came with no fans. He tended to score the difficult chances (less pressure) and miss the easier ones where he had time to think of the consequences of missing.

I played another sport to a reasonable level as a kid and I could be describing myself here… hence it’s just a hunch. The fans getting at him will have given him a love/hate relationship with them.

In terms of his time here? Mixed. I felt the side played better with him leading the line/running the channels holding the ball up… but his chance conversion rate was consistently below par. Obviously his time here and form was affected by a never-ending series of injuries. It’s frustrating for fans but even more so for the player.

    Wish him well.

Not sure why we’re saying goodbye. With his injury record, wages and as pointed out, his propensity for missing sitters, I’m not sure that there’s going to be many takers.

I wish him well, though find it difficult to see where he’ll go, even on a free, due to his wages and fitness issues. Maybe the MLS will come calling.

Pretty much echo Milky comments. Always thought we played better with him up top but never a finisher you could be confident about.

Still cherish the hatrick he scored away at Villa for the Bielsa team. Sublime, but then I recall a good few of the tap-ins he should have buried.

Anyway DF has made his decision that it’s time for him to move on. Best wishes to Paddy, when that happens.

I’d say club will pay up his contract so he can happily take a wage cut

Thank god he's gone. Should have gone the same time as Bielsa.

Wastes 3 years paying his wages
