Having looked at the crowd and layout we were actually in front standing and we didn’t even realise it. Result ! I didn’t realise there was a VIP area right at the front and then the front standing area. It makes the night even better :emoticon-0102-bigsm

We walked back for about half an hour toward Manchester until the roads were open and booked an uber. £17 back to Piccadilly before 11:30, took about 15 mins in taxi. We were in the front side like so managed to get out quick but it was much easier than getting the shuttle back by the sounds of it the first load of people weren’t getting back into the centre for about an hour after us. Loads of taxis waiting on Bury old rd offering a lift back for £60 the ****ers.

That happened after the Ozzy Osborne gig.

They said there would be extra trains back from Villa Park to Walsall. In reality there were three scheduled trains. The first one went empty as the concert finished late. The second one was withdrawn as it broke down. The third one was delayed until they removed the broken down one. The last train was filled up and then they said to everyone else waiting, tough you'll have to find another way back. It was almost midnight by then and the buses had also finished.

There were hundreds of people wanting taxis but the ones on the rank were asking £80 for a £20 journey :emoticon-0104-surpr

Kept trying Bolt and Uber. Eventually found a Bolt for £40 and decided to pay that as it was after 1am. While waiting we got talking to a mother and daughter and found they were also trying to get back to the same hotel, so I said jump in ours and we halved the fare.

Anyone walk to the gig from Manchester city centre? Planning on doing that with a bag of cans for the journey but not sure if there will be coppers on route stopping people drinking.

They were brilliant last night and that's from someone who wasn't fussed about them. The kids absolutely loved it.

Nearly had a disaster when the Mrs told the security guard the bairn was 13 which ended up with him being refused entry. Went back 30 minutes later and got in no bother.
