One of my least fav courses. Any course that thinks 300+ plus yards is a par 3 misses the point of golf. Mind you, if I were designing I wouldnt have a par 3 longer than 170.

Yeah I think there's so many more creative ways at making courses harder than just making them longer. I want the best players to be punished for not hitting fairways

I want to see par 3s that really test short iron accuracy. There is nothing better on golf than a 9 iron that needs to land on a 10 foot saucer or you are 25 feet away. Give them a 125 yard par 3, surround it by sand and water. Much more exciting to watch (and play). No real shock the best holes in golf are the short par 3s that bring real jeopardy to a score card.

it’s an ugly brute of a course. Some holes are just a bit dumb. And there’s a freeway running through the middle of it.

Completely mixes up the leaderboard though. I like that aspect.

    Three picka for me.

Rory looked in good form last week. This is the course he would most like to win on.

Tyrell Hatton. Links golf expert and really good in Opens.

Marco Penge. In a great run and looked really solid in Scotland last week.

I watched most of last week's Scottish Open. Mcllroy had a shocking first day (by his standards) but proved what an amazing player he is over the next 3 days.

I watched Penge in the BMW Championship the week before, and like last week, he was a tad erratic but very a massive driver of the ball when he's on it. Great shout.

I would love Hatton to win it and in his speech afterwards tell all the suits to Fook Off. Love his character.

For me I'm going for the exceptional Scotty Scheffler. His stats this year are crazy good.

3 wins, 9 top ten finishes and not missed a cut in 15 starts this year. Worse finish was T25th

Some cracking groups to watch on days 1 & 2. Fleetwood if he can hold his bottle.

I love Scheffler. Such a complete golfer. Rahm not far behind and he has been solid all year too.

If Rory had their consistency, at the top of his game, he would be at the very elite level in history.

I do like Fleetwood. I just think he lacks some tee distance to really stick with the main boys. Sadly distance off the tee seems to bring more and more rewards each season.

I'm i'm honest, I would love Fleetwood to win, he has been a superb golfer and plays the game the right way...just think, for this major, he doesn't have the form..really hope i'm wrong

Some decent swings in the squad. Simon Moore in particular, backup GK is the life, train all week, sit on the bench on a Saturday and get a round in on the Sunday:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Paddy Roberts has the best swing there I reckon. Controlled back swing, good follow through and a proper swoosh sound on contact.

as for the Open. I put a bet on Fitz EW, also Tyrell . Macintyre also looked good for a finish.

but Scottie was sublime yesterday. Gonna be hard to beat him. Rory & Rambo are both a bit out of sorts. … but could come back into contention if they bag a very good 3rd day

Have to agree Nordic.. Paddy has a solid swing, so does Dan Neil.
Just hope Fitzpatrick plays his own game rather than try to play Scheffler... ( if you get my meaning) Both are playing so well. Scottie playing some of the best golf i've seen since when Tiger was in his pomp.

3rd vote for Paddy. Looked a really solid swing, good foundations. Huggins looked tidy too and Dan had a really good movement through the hips.

Trai Hume on the other hand? FOUR!<laugh>

Some of the best golf I have seen in a while being played today. Brilliant standard.

Scottie mind. He really is something else. Am I wrong to say he isnt far off Tiger in this form.

The standard of golf this afternoon is ridiculously brilliant. Fitzpatricks cross over hand chip in for eagle. Hattons brilliant eagle from about 140ish. Mcllroy eagle putt from a distance. Scheffler just tearing the course apart....brilliant tv viewing

Does have a feel of a Scheffler win now… when he’s in this form… the guy is a machine… sooo good

Aye, but there are some players behind him. Queing. I would love to see Hatton in the final group with him and being ultra aggresive.

And Westie. Absolutely brilliant back 9.
