Yep, some tosser posts the same every year, 'pre-season, get fit, don't get injured, don't get sent off'. Pearl clutchers have us already relegated if we don't smash teams, and play at 100% intensity. Abridged version, panicking fannies. That is all. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Much better second half, Brown looks better than Kamara, takes his man on. Burstow and Sellers Fleming look better than Joseph, though to be fair Joseph got little servise whist on. Another win, limited them to more or less nothing, some positives.
Vaughn looked ok today when he came on, looked much stronger than the last time I saw him, Burstow playing up front could be good. Obviously Brown was the stand out from the subs. For me Kamara was decent in the first half, I think he’s got good tricks in him, but when he loses it or it doesn’t come off, his head goes down as opposed to being lazy IMO. Maybe needs someone to have a word with him, mentor & encourage him.
With the caveat that we don't know how much their subs weakened their side, much better second half. Here's one easy trick to press the opposition better, play two wide players who can be arsed to chase. We did a good job in halting their playing out from the back. Brown was an obvious plus, but McCarthy looks a player, very calm in possession. Shelvey looks like he can do a job, in League 2. Hopefully that's the final nail in the Tiger striped coffin of the racist ****. Big plus for me was Burstow, looked like a proper centre forward, strong in possession, looked like someone who wanted to impress. 3/4 of our starting back four looked good as well, and even Giles wasn't terrible.
Need to activate the extension on that performance... On 24 July 2024, Brown signed for EFL Championship side Hull Cityon a two-year contract, with the club holding the option of an extra year.[2]
The results mean nothing. But winning becomes habit, it also keeps spirits high and people working for him despite the chaos off the pitch. Fair play to big Serg he’s clearly having his ideas heard
NO!!... I can give you anywhere between 150k and 350k reasons not to... it would be a bigger ufck up than the other one made this week...
Only saw the last 25 minutes. My overall impression regardless of how much better we might have looked from that point onwards was just how **** they were. Whoever they were.
i wouldnt either but he might just because we need at least some signings, i guess it depends on who else we are after
Shelvey can still pass a ball but in the Championship he'd be a liability, huffing and puffing around the centre circle, arriving a couple of seconds late for everything.
I know I defended him longer than most, probably out of sympathy due to being thrown under the bus last summer, but Jakirović isn’t like Walter at all and that’s a compliment. Walter was abrasive, arrogant, his touchline theatrics were pathetic and the players couldn’t stand him. He may be a nice guy outside of football but as a head coach, he was a massive bellend. Throughout that friendly, I could hear Jakirović constantly shouting words of encouragement, even in the first half when we couldn’t string two passes together. He recognised and praised when someone made a good tackle or pressed the opposition into a mistake. It’s little things like that which players will respond positively to. That doesn’t make him soft either but he is regarded as a good man-manager and like a father figure to players. That probably means Acun will sack him if we finish 14th.
He’s like an ex-pro who has been retired for years but can ping a perfect pass in a Soccer Aid game. I’m sure Pirlo can still play a beautiful through ball effortlessly but could he play 90, 60 or even 30 minutes of Championship football? No and neither can Shelvey.
Brown is a baller looks the real deal, showing people what actual raw talent looks like. Not against kids coming through if they are actually good enough just people get too excited and think reality is like footy manager… Vaughan for example just simply isn’t good enough and never will be at this level. lazy comment to assume I pedal everyone into the same boat when actually the inverse is true for people blindly championing youngsters in desperate hope they come good.
