    Personally I would’ve gone to Besiktas, think he’ll be more of a rotation option at West Ham depending on the game/oppo. Imagine they’ll play AWB against the better sides

    He is a London lad isn't he? I'd imagine the decision was made mostly on that with the bonus that he will still get some PL football.

    Yeah quite possibly the reason. Guess it depends what other offers he had. Rumours were Leeds, Everton and Fulham had all shown interest but he chose Besiktas over them
