Until we brought all the kids on we looked ok. Tough to read anything into the first game but some decent signs.
Looked good, last 10 shaky but understandable with it being a few kids out there. If Schmidt is off, then we are going to need better cover at RB. Harrison, Meslier need to go ASAP and on that performance Struijk needs to up his game. AO looking prem ready, going to be a few tough decisions for Farke for those midfield places, especially with Stach coming, nice problem to have. For me though, AO should be one of the starters
Couldn’t watch the game but what was the point in starting Harrison? He doesn’t want to be here and the fans don’t want him here (not to mention that we have better).
All looked steady enough, Bijol and Gudmundsson the pick...stands out for me though were Tanaka and Bogle.
Thought we did ok. can't really read into the result as about 40 players played on that pitch. New signings all had glimpses but its far to early to judge on anything. Absolute buzzing we got Anton Stach though. Bamford with the u21's so some people are saying so guessing the Athletic are right in what they said other day in having no future here Along with the rest Gyabi,Gelhardt,Greenwood. Also rumors Joseph is on his way. too. Footy is back yeshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Overall I thought the new lads did pretty well although Longstaffe covered blades of grass thought he tied himself in knots a couple of times, but hey it’s all new to him. Why do I get the feeling Gruev is in the shop window now we have Tanaka, Ampadu, Longstaffe and Stach. He also got the most minutes?
This coming season makes me think of a joke I heard years ago. 2 guys are out alone in Africa when they spot a lion. One crouches down very slowly and starts to tighten the laces on his trainers. The other one smiles and whispers, "you'll never outrun a lion." Without looking up he replies, "I don't have to outrun the lion, I have to outrun you." This season we need to finish above at least 3 teams, anything else is a bonus. Scum signing Mbuemo along with the other stuff going on drags Brentford towards us. We're signing players that will be tough to bully and who will work fkn hard. If we do go down it will be with a massive fight imo
Too early to judge Nmecha. Could be a useful impact sub but we need a stellar signing for the main striker position. As it stands we have no real focal point. As for Harrison I really hope he leaves. Apart from his reluctance to be here he doesn’t fit the system. Ramazani does though. He attacks at pace and relieves the defence. Harrison just does his usual going round in circles and usually gets dispossessed. It would be handy if we could get Solomon back or, if not him, Paixao from Feyenoord.
Schmidt minor injury, Gnonto said he was desperate to be involved despite being told he could miss the game, Joseph told Farke he didn’t feel ready to be included.
Paixoa on his way to Marseille €35m + €5m add ons on a 5-year deal. Pity that was an exiting couple of days thinking we might get him, but he will be in the 2nd best team in France behind PSG and playing Champions League football. we need a statement signing like Rodrigo Muniz, but Imwould also take that moody serial scorer Alexander Mitrovic who has been allowed to leave his club. Possible loan deal plus buy option or even a £30m cheeky offer. Still has some of the best goal stats anywhere?
Mitrovic is on £400k a week. As for the left wing, I think Solomon becomes available late in the window.
Mitrovic camp have said his wages are reduced to facilitate a move. Even Rashford has reduced his wages by nearly £200k per week to get his Barcelona move according to Fabrizio, so anything possible when a player wants to move. Sancho also dropped his massive wage to get a move to Juve….
Not sure I want Solomon anymore. If he wanted to join he could have done by now as he had a great time here. If he really wants to stay at Spurs but will join if they don’t want him, then I’m thinking meh……
Spurs are in the Champions League. They've got a new manager who said he wanted to have a look at the whole squad. I think most of us would try and make the grade at Spurs.
