I know a former school teacher (she retired from trying to educate surfs in ‘Ull at the earliest opportunity) that now volunteers teaching English to ‘foreigners’ that have moved to ‘Ull. Anyway, to the point, she has them writing stuff in English and they write spoken English. One of her pupils had used “gonna” in just about every sentence about what they were planning on doing. It was quite amusing that his date claimed to be from Lincoln (where she lived) but she was actually from Lancashire. As for letters disappearing (other than the ‘H’ droppers of East Yorkshire) how about letters just replacing words? I keep hearing about ‘r’ NHS and ‘r’ kid. And I keep seeing posts on another section of this Forum referring to ‘are NHS’...
