we might have been but he might have chosen Leeds. We won’t be first choice for every player. I’d have liked him (based only what others have said)
£6m and he was absolutely ****e. Anonymous in our game at the Riverside. 0 goals or assists in 16 games.
Tbh if we were gonna have pull over the French market or the German market I’d probably pick France. I love Germany and Germans but there seems to be so much value out of France
Cannot see the club taking the piss the way its run at the moment. Its probably agents telling the players they can get more
Think Stach is a great signing. I think it's the first signing by a 'relegation rival' that I would've liked here.
We’re still going to be massively underrated and seen as underdogs. The other forum I’m on (which is neutral fans) seem set in their consensus that Longstaff is “by far the best signing the promoted clubs have made”. And that we’ve invested heavily in untested players and it could go horribly wrong. Honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m embracing it. These fans all thought we had no chance of promotion as well.. so…
I’m really bored of the premier league experience thing I’d like maybe 1 or 2 who know the league and teams / stadiums etc for what to expect but the prem experience thing used to come from the fact England was a physically tougher league than most, centre forwards would come and get bullied or defenders etc but nowadays most leagues in the world are extremely physical. Especially Europe. enzo le fee has said he found Ligue 1 more physical than the championship yes the premier league has a higher average quality of player but there’s just as many poor players as there is decent just like any league in the world France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, all are quite physically demanding these days, football has changed
I completely agree. I think the standard consensus of what makes a good promoted side is what’s caused promoted sides to keep getting relegated. Status quo doesn’t work.
Like obviously a bloke scoring 30 goals in Holland isn’t necessarily going to get 30 in the premier league. but physically they’re ready for the league if they can translate their technical attributes they’re fine, you can tell when someone is most likely a good player in a **** league or whether he’s someone who can translate his attributes to other leagues
You have to remember most online fans only know about well known players. So, to them, that will make Longstaff better than Diarra automatically. It’s why we appreciate the insight in this forum from the bunch of fans who watch all kinds of football.
Theyll definitely just be saying he's the best as they've hard of the rest I like what we've done so far, there's still a lot of work for us to do but pretty much every team could say the same
