Think that would be the straw that breaks the camels back for a few including me. If we are genuinely just having cash flow problems we have enough deals happening to ride then out. This would he a serious lack of ambition selling our best hope of a future pay day.
Cathal McCarthy would be 4th choice, potentially 5th if we bring in another filler. Much cheaper than having Joens and Macca sat around on combined wages of 20k+ a week when we are now looking to use wages as the main draw for free agents.
The only way he can justify that sale is if he says we have Harry Maguire coming in on a free to replace him.
Oh,this would be a great bit of business Sell Hughes for £5 million and we could even fling Alzate in for free on a BOGOF type deal. We've got a fantastic relationship with Sheff Utd(like we have with all the Club's really) and they'll see us right... Think of how many players wages we could pay for the season with £5million...It's orgasmic,I'm genuinely blown away, yippee
Urrrghhh we can't get rid of Hughes, he's the only player that looks genuine quality..... we should be building around him. Unless it's £20m. and he's a £30m defender after he strolls around the Championship next season
I wouldn’t read too much into Twitter news, it should all be taken with a bag of salt! I’m assuming Acun’s not stupid enough to throw out any players who are actually good.
It's a tad optimistic to think that we'll be able to get 2 players for £500k. That's only £5k a week, Egan will be on 5 figures a week at the absolute least. But considering his reputation he must be pushing £15k a week. £5k a week is essentially a L1 wage.
The Hughes story is probably bollocks. But if it isn't and he goes then that's absolute proof that this is not just an unfortunate temporary blip but a systemic disaster. Unless it's a really silly money offer, which it's unlikely to be.
I'm not paying much attention to any facts and figures of rumours on Twitter or on here either,it's guesswork at best. Hence the reason I gave 'HullCityInEurope's post a like
"Sheffield United are targeting" means "Hull City are definitely going to sell" now does it? Yet another meltdown over nothing (yet) ffs
It won't be ad hoc, but it could possibly be that we have to demonstrate how we will fund it before they will ratify.
