We can't though can we cos PSR. We have to sign young talent on lowish wages. I'm going to through another name out there. Omorodion from Porto.
400k and not what Newcastle are looking for on the evidence anyway. The fans seem to think Newcastle can break rules now and not get treated harshly.
Looks like he's on that now but reports from Italy suggest he is prepared to cut to €12m per year, (around €230k pw). So roughly around £10.3m pa / £200k pw. I'm no finance man, but we could offer him an initial signing on fee of around £10m and then around £130 pw wages. 3 year deal. No impact on wage structure And well within budget vs Pedro /Ekitike. Could even go higher on the signing fee.
We can chuck out names til the cows come home, mate - as we've seen from three years of transfer activity, our targets have all followed the exact same pattern - PL experience, obvious, decent, and subsequently massively overpriced. Then you chuck in the fact almost all of them have been wanted by a bigger club and the list of our actual (alleged) targets is despairingly small and depressingly unavailable. Livramento, Hall, Barnes, Olise, Guehi, Trafford, Delap, Huijsen, Mbuemo, Pedro, Cunha, Elanga, Guehi (again), Ekitike, Wissa. Apologies if I've missed any - but on what planet are we a) about to sign an exciting foreign player and b) how are we actually going to sign anyone?
We won't have "scouted" him so as it stands are probably around 18-24 months from getting round to making an inquiry. I'd probably rule this one out. As the window moves on, we might end up - as we have before - dipping into relegated PL clubs. Only might, mind. Bear in mind we have a transfer committee of what would appear to be one person so let's not overload them with work.
Suspect we'll add one, maybe two, subs and that'll be it this window. I knew at the start for all the bluff and bluster it'd be another let down. That Mitchell lasted 11 months and we've been after a new CEO for 10 of those tells you everything about the exec level at this club, and if the exec level is such a ****ing disaster then it'll just seep down. Howe's gone up in my estimation, but now I see why he held onto players like Trips, Almiron and Wilson for as long as he did - he knows that from the Saudis and Eales, there is a huge problem.
