But where has this sudden “duty of care” come from? Where was this when Bury and Macclesfield went pop? Or when it was apparent the Wendies were struggling? If so many clubs are in similar positions to us behind the scenes (as has been alluded to by Kieran Maguire), why are we the only club with these measures in place? Leicester are currently in their bad books, will they be facing the same restrictions we are? Doubt it.
Makes sense S.T but what possible reason would the EFL have to single us out for special punishment measures?
Its complex I imagine the late payments has whats allowed or opened them to look into Other clubs may be a mess financially but not breaking specific rules Its probably hundreds of pages of documentation Efl probably has far less resources spread out amongst all the 72 clubs too Its difficult with no easy answers
Plenty of clubs have balance sheets as bad as ours but this has come form concerns over the owner being able to meet the clubs commitments. Because he hasn't been able to in recent months. Theres nothing wrong with posting a loss as long as the owner can cover it. It would appear other clubs actually gamble with their own money, not money that's already owed to suppliers and to other clubs.
This has went from a possible misunderstanding,to an embargo,to a sanction,to something we'd sort out in a couple of weeks on appeal,to something that might not get settled till the end of the month but might go into next month. It was something to which our owner was going to "come out swinging" about but he's now disappeared off the face of the Earth, sorting out business in the planet zog no doubt... Just a brief reminder here and it's something to pay strict attention to....Our first League game of the season is 3 weeks Tomorrow yet we're selling our so called donkeys who aren't quite up to scratch and replacing them with fresh air... This is the **** up to top all previous **** ups!!!
If the club has a policy of not signing/announcing any new players until the appeal is ruled on then why not apply that to outgoings as well?
By the same mechanism employed by any club who sign a player, we're just not allowed to pay a fee for the signing (or pay inflated wages that could be considered to be making up for a fee).
Last thought on the Macca DEBACLE. Theres an adage... if it aint broke, dont fix it, and the only thing that kept us where we are now last season was a solid defence built on understanding and belief in each other. As it is, thats now being dismantled and we STILL haven't rectified the issue at the other end of the pitch. Draw your own conclusions...
Could we sign 15 players on 39k. Equally unsustainable. I am really unclear as to what level of say they have...or are they just bending the rules. Im not having a pop at what you have put BTW.
