I've read that Forest have been trying very hard to get MGW to sign a new contract without a release clause, for significantly more money.

If they had any faith in the argument that it was a mere drafting error, those attempts would fatally hole that argument. They could simply have sought a declaration that the contract was to have contained the clause, if there was evidence to back that up.

Skyte Sports claim that Forest have sent legal threats to both us and MGW

Really looks like they've decided MGW's agent squealed about the release clause and are hoping one of us hangs him out to dry

The obvious fact they're missing is that release clauses tend to be public knowledge (i.e. Kudus' was public knowledge for weeks before we signed him, or we've been hearing about Benjamin Sesko's for what feels like a year) but Forest had a release clause that nobody knew about? That smells

More than anything else, given the Mansourites were offering £100m for him in January, I'm certain this clause would have been truffled out around that time by somebody

    :::EDIT:::

...Skyte Sports also claim that we pretty much laughed at these threats and are biding our time

Anyway, in other news, Pete Hall at the Indy says we've bid for Genoa CB Koni de Winter

Given he's a Juventus academy graduate, have to assume Paratici is advising this one

I pity the social media admin trying to spin gold out of his past social media posts...

Luca Williams-Bennett was blocking his path to regular football, so he heads to the oil barons

Who will never play him, but still whack a 25% sell-on clause on him three or four years from now

Forest are looking to sign Spurs legend Gedson Fernandes

No word as to whether Besiktas put a release clause in his contract

Alasdair Gold says we've agreed a fee with Luton for Josh Keeley, with a whacking great sell-on fee attached

Re Gibbs-White, I think we should just set Forest an ultimatum and move on if the situation is still unresolved by then.

This threatens to drag on all summer.

We should just ignore Forest, do his medical and announce it. **** 'em.
Get someone to harpoon their owner next time he's in open waters, too.

Kyle Walker-Peters' move to Besiktas has collapsed.
Rumour is that he couldn't get his family to agree to go to Istanbul.

A flash of promise a week and a half ago has faded into an all too familiar slow trudge.

No improvements have been made to the first team - again. Meanwhile no one has been moved on.

Basically do what Man Utd did to us with Berbatov

See if the Premier League turn a blind eye to such blatant ignoring of their rules when we do it for a change...

Reports say he wasn't signing a new contract, so it's best to sell now

r/coys is consoling themselves over the fact he'd never qualify as HG or CG
