That's what some of the 100-odd charges are for. It goes back years and there's loads to it which is why it's taking so long.
in others news, had a random browse of twitter seems the big arguments today on city twitter is why and who acun invited onto the speedboat
Acun is a jokes everything he says is a lie. Acting as if we are appealing and going to get away with it’s the clubs finances are a mess, just accept your fate and sign players accordingly. Or we might as well go too League 1 now.
In contrast to what RH said yesterday, Baz says we are expecting an outcome to the appeal before the end of the month, so not after the season has started.
Fair point. Although he gets tip bits from Acun and Dublin, who I’m slightly convinced are saving face or have no idea what day it is.
It does seem that RH work on the absolute worst case scenario all the time. Really hard to know what to believe.
The reports about us only paying a percentage of his wages implies to me they're adjusting the deal to something they think the EFL would struggle to refuse (like they did McBurnie). We're almost certainly benefiting from a relationship BUT the EFL won't be able to prove that. In theory signing a 22 year old on loan and paying most of his wages is applicable to Frigan and a host of other PL loans we could make. PL loans that the EFL would surely accept if there was no fee and the wages are affordable. The fact that Frigan isn't a young player looking for a loan in the champ to get experience as he's fairly established already screams a bit dodgy but in theory the EFL can't refuse it if the fee and wage points have been addressed. Who are they to decide was is a good deal for Westerlo. Should we be concerned/question the deal - yes. Can the EFL block it, I'm not sure. No we need a player like Frigan - certainly.
Not defending Acun at all or downplaying him being at fault for this, because he is, but the EFL can **** off as well. Their fit-and-proper-person test is about as stringent as Spiders Nightclub’s ID checks. So many clubs have been allowed to suffer due to their negligence and in many cases, that suffering and decline is compounded by the EFL’s punitive measures after the fact. What happened to Bury was a disgrace. What’s happening to Sheffield Wednesday is a disgrace. What’s happening to us is nowhere near as bad but the EFL still need to do a lot more in the way of prevention when it comes to rogue ownership acquiring clubs instead of merely punishing the clubs, players and supporters after the fact.
I assume we'll pay all his wages, I think the 'percentage of wages' thing is just to stop clubs from paying inflated wages to get round the fact they can't pay a fee, I suspect 100% of the wages isn't an issue.
Trouble is when these checks are done there's usually proof of funds and a business plan but if an owner goes rogue after checks are complete well they can't see into the future.
Saw something on Twitter about our signing of Tetteh being dodgy. Can’t wait for that can of worms to open!
