Fair enough mate, wasn’t too sure how well but defo remember him playing on that side. In this era of front 3s it’s pretty paramount to have your wingers/IF’s cutting in. Surely he’s our best option on the left from who we’ve brought in though?
I prefer Lauriente icl, but I have been a slight adingra doubter from the get go so maybe I'm biased.
By my reckoning, Armand Laurienté is the first signing that has been linked for at least more than 2 hours. Most have come out the blue.
It does make sense the more you think about it Roberts is midfield depth. Coming on later in games and play a Pritchard like role. Do think we are top heavy left side, Talbi will defo be playing RW, and the one of Mundle, Adringa & Lauriente will need to adapt there
To me, the signings we're making perhaps point to a more fluid 4-4-2 ish way of setting up. But if that's the case it would probably draw into question the chase for Xhaka as we've already got 5 high profile central midfielders (plus odds and sods). Obviously there's the Neil situation to take into account but without inside knowledge or the benefit of hindsight we'll get at the end, it feels like we're pulling our recruitment in two separate directions. I'd probably prefer our approach to be a little clearer by now in truth. Maybe it becomes clearer in the next week.
No team is going to out run us this season, we'll be devastating on the counter. What happens when teams sit back against us though? Perhaps when they go 2-0 up. Do we have the craft to open them up if they've got a low block? I think we do? ELF and Diarra seem to be able to do so. Also the thing that I like about our speedy signings isn't just their top end speed but their short burst speed. They can go past a player really easily.
Nee chance, he’ll be lucky to get on the pitch. I’d be very surprised if we line up with a proper 10 at all this coming season, we’ll need a deeper midfield 3 most games.
One thing we can be sure about is ELF isn't gonna get shoved out to the left wing to cover absences this season
