Don't shoot the messenger. Paixao could be done as soon as Friday. Stach moving ever closer Lots of movement on Muniz in the last 2 days. absolutely no where near a new keeper.
Those three and Longstaff…. It would suddenly become an excellent looking transfer window. Strange the keeper situation is not developing unless we’re just managing to keep it out the limelight
Thats what my man thinks, he said they thought they'd got Perri, so stopped looking at others. the club are angry that a few leaks have come out especially the Diarra one, so he's wondering if they're giving out a few rumours that aren't true, one being with regard the keeper, another being the Turkish lad, they're trying to find the leak, as Bates did. But the 3 above, he's pretty certain are genuine.
Paixao is a strange one, as he has an injury that is worse than originally thought and will miss all preseason and the start of a new season, up to 8 weeks in total I read
Very strange, passing a medical would be difficult in those circumstances. Perhaps its the clubs hope to come to an agreement by Friday
Interesting stuff on the Sky transfer site, it’s basically saying we are prioritising outfielder players over goalkeeper as they don’t need as much time to get used to a new system. Napoli pursuing Leeds target Milinkovic-Savic Napoli are pursuing a move for Torino goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, according to Sky in Italy. Leeds United have an interest in the 28-year-old, as reported by Sky Sports News. But he was never seen as a realistic target given the other clubs interested. The Italian champions have scheduled a meeting with Torino on Saturday after positive discussions today. Napoli's interest was known to Leeds and Antonio Conte's side have now decided to make their move. Milinkovic-Savic has a release clause of around £16.4m for teams in Serie A. Leeds have a long list of goalkeeper targets, which includes Lucas Perri of Lyon, but they are prioritising outfielder signings. This is because a 'keeper would not need the same amount of time to adapt to a new system. So reckon it’s a back 3/back 5 set up for the prem, if that story is accurate.
yeh my first thought when I watched him when we were first linked last month.. I just assumed it was one of many that were doing the rounds for column inches.. but seems to be gathering pace. He was ‘linked’ with some big prem clubs but none have gone for him. scouting report suggested that his player stats in general weren’t exceptional - dribbling, passing etc, but he came alive where it counts.
Amazes me the level of haggling clubs will go through given riches available. Why not pay what Paixiis club is looking for and get it over the line. For every position up the pl table it’s worth an extra two million at end of season if we buy this lad it’s divided over four or five seasons so surely it makes sense for us to pay say 5m a year instead of 4.5 we want to pay. If he’s as good as it seems surely a no brainer for owners with lofty ambitions
you’re like my ex. Good at spending other people’s money. seriously, I hear you and feel the same sometimes. I think it’s clear though there’s a budget and overdspend on one signing limits the spend for the next. With each signing you make it either improves or weakens your position for the next one(s)
If we save £3 million on the Bijol deal, £2 million on Gudmundsson, £2 million on James new contract over its length and a possible £5 million on Paixao then it gives us a better chance of Muniz from Fulham.
From what I understand we agreed to their initial valuation, €30m but they then moved the goalposts, trying to get more from anyone willing to improve on that, Marseille apparently would only go to €22m. I believe his dad is his agent or part of it and was put up in a luxury hotel in Marseille earlier in thevweek and he agreed personal terms but his club won't entertain their offer
