Once again, very disappointed in the lack of visibility of the OP, so close to the lasses kicking off. I can only think he must have found something far more interesting to do, like putting up an IKEA shelf. Although to be fair, knowing the OP, maybe he started that on Monday and just hasn't been able to finish it in time to show his undying support for the women's game.
Well, apparently our lasses stuffed the Netherlands 4-0, although I gave up watching when Jill Scott said "This England team are determined not to show any cracks tonight".
And the **** thing is a 17 year old Swedish girl is the one that hoofed her penalty over the bar like she didn’t know what to do.
Not the greatest set of penalties ever! Tbh wonder if there’s been a worse set at a major finals before? Nearly 2/3rds missed
TBF, a couple of good saves in there. But most were just woeful penalties that would be ridiculed by fans in the men's game. But I'm sure that won't be the media narrative on this.
The Swedish Keeper had her list as to which way to go and amusingly was already over that side by the time the kick was taken but nobody seemed to be looking when they took their shots so just tamely passed it to her.
The only setting where I'd watch women's football is if I wanted cheering up. The standard is awful and some of the howlers and mis kicks are very funny indeed.
They don’t seem to have learnt the art of faking during the run-up and combined with the lower power, it tips the balance back towards the goalkeeper. Makes for a more interesting shoot-out than in men’s game. Noticeable that Kelly who does do something during the run up scored easily.
