Think the squad is looking very good now. Getting to stage where 2 very good players for every position which will allow slot to rotate a lot more than he did last year.

Not sold on Guehi but everything I read say that stats show he is brilliant ball playing defender. Composed, passes the ball forward, decent pace, great leadership. Think it’s just he’s not dominant in the air, but then vvd is so maybe that covers it. Just guehi reminds me of Gomez at CB. Just not quite tall enough but our transfer team don’t get many wrong so if he comes in then I don’t think he’ll disappoint.

    Ali / Mama

    Frimpong / Bradley
    Vvd / Gomez
    Konate / Guehi???
    Kerez / Robbo or Tsimikas

    Grav / Endo
    Mac / Jones
    Wirtz / Szobo

    Salah / Elliott
    Ekitike / Diaz
    Gakpo / Ngumoha

Looks a little short up top albeit Diaz covers all 3 areas and Szobo Wirtz can do a job wide so in terms of resting there are options there. Far greater than last year

Nunez to go as well I guess.

    We are at 137 mil.

    Add 120 for thr two.

    Thats 257mil

50 for nunez, lets just say.
    25 doak
    10 morton
10 for chiesa (doubt it but could happen)
    10 for tsimikas

That brings us back to 152.

That's before any actual senior player losses on top of what we took already.

Sell Diaz for 70 and you are back to 82.

    Right on budget.

However theres several loanees that small bid could flog off.

Stephenson only has a year left. He might go.
Gordon needs to go, major attitude disappointment
Chambers isn't good enough for us but played well when fit.
    Beck will go.
    McConnell could be sold off.

There's several forwards we would like to loan.

: Liverpool has accepted Ibrahima Konaté's departure. The center-back has already told club officials that he hasn't ruled out the option of leaving this summer, provided his possible destination is Real Madrid.
Liverpool have already started looking for a replacement for Konaté . Real Madrid will not hesitate to move to sign Konaté and some necessary steps have been taken.
Inside Liverpool, they believe that Real Madrid made some contact with Ibrahima Konate, which is why he refused to renew his contract twice.

elliott will go I think. still to buy kitikat, Rodrygo (or similar), Guehi. If Konate goes, we’d need another CB.

we could end up with 3 of the back four starters being new. A new 10, a new LW and a new 9. 6/10 outfield players replaced if you consider them as starters - I’ve never seen this kind of change at the club before.

ridiculously, I still thank that we need a CM. Endo and Jones are not at the level we need for this positions imo……I think that I’m just being greedy now.

Jones can be very good at times and more than adequate as back up. Up to him if he ever wants to be more than that.

I think he can be in a more forward midfield position (in a 4-3-3) but as a long term effective replacement from Grav or Mac A (in a 4-2-3-1) I struggle to see it I’m afraid.

    Agreed.

He's just not got the mentality or brain or ehatever to be the guy tracking runs and holding shape. He get run off all the time when deeper.

He is a "failed" winger in truth. He didn't have the pace but had all the talent in the world at youth level. He is a left sided player or 10 in his make up.

He's playing midfield and had bags of certain talents and would do well being allowed to run to the box late to finish. Tackling and tricking runs are not his game.

There's a lot of queue jumpers out there due to the brexit rules now.

We have a lot of them but they have not really turned out much better than a local lad given the opportunity.

The closest thing today to a signed kid who might play is McConnell or Ngumoha. The rest are actually mile and miles off the pace. (Even nyoni)

I question if they are better served in an elite academy with a certain level of coaching and resource but playing with kids each week or being in a senior set up even if the coaching is a little less high standard (maybe) but playing mens football.

If you get 50 senior games under your belt then you are ready for a move, but going at 16 with nothing behind you into an academy structure and just playing a few u18s games is not going to necessarily push you on.
