I'd honestly rather spend the silly transfer fee's being reported for Wissa on Strand Larsen as he's a proper striker compared to Wissa who imo is just a glorified winger who had a purple patch upfront last season in Thomas Frank's system, I think he'll struggle to get half as many goals this year if he stays at Brentford.

Strand Larsen is superb at holding the ball up and laying it off, probably the best in the league as there's not many these days who can lay the ball off accurately first time without taking a controlling touch when the pass is drilled into the CF with his back to goal. He got 14 goals and 5 assists in a struggling Wolves side last season and at 25 I think Eddie can still unlock his potential and turn him into a 20+ goal per season striker.

If NUFC have a 3 man shortlist, why is the dozy twonk Downie telling every f*cker on the planet who they are?

Probably because it's all just guesswork. Ekitike bid fails and all of a sudden there are 3 CBs on the menu? Sounds like grasping at straws to me

It could be that there just isn't the right player available now. Newcastle are looking for a striker who can do a bit of everything and play multiple positions.

Pedro Isak Elanga Gordon and ekitike can all do that, so the player will be of similar characteristics.

It won't surprise me if Newcastle don't bother with a big striker purchase if the right player isn't available.

Indeed. I wonder what Klopp would think of Liverpoo's spending this summer.

New name in the mix. Ex-England striker Callum Wilson has been seen in and around St James and rumors are a new contract is still a possibility. Like a new player.

Maybe they are planning for him to help out with training sessions. As one of those stationary dummies they use as a wall to practice direct free-kicks.

Today would be a great day to announce DCL. I mean, I think Newcastle might sign two strikers, but the twitter fans will all have a massive tantrum, which would be quite entertaining.

That wouldn’t work. Have you seen how injury prone he is? <laugh>

You wanted article showing Newcastle had rejected bid.

Headline literally says Newcastle responded saying not for sale..

I’m still waiting for proof that ‘all the media’ have posted about how Liverpool have played a blinder though as you originally claimed - you then tried to change the subject which I’ve provided you evidence for.

If you just made up the media bit to try and be the plucky underdog that’s fine, I don’t mind. Everyone exaggerates stuff, can just admit it’s just in your mind and we can move on <ok>

He can be the one laying down behind the wall to prevent low shots.
