Clueless, they think Beheadie Howe decides transfer policy, I didnt think it was possible, but are they just getting thicker by the day?
I find that hard to believe a human can only get so thick and that’s when he changes into a Newcastle fan. End of.
So , if screwed over by Eddie/nufc, he believes Liverpool would happily then do a transfer deal with them ? Dear me , really on another planet
It could well be that the Saudis have been extremely clever over the Ekitike business. However. Michael Edwards, a man with an outstanding record in football development and transfers at Liverpool, is CEO of football at Anfield. Jack Ross, a decent bloke, former League One manager and youth coach is Head of Football at the hotch potch. Just worth mentioning.
I think some of them live in an alternate reality, where things mean the opposite of what's really said or happening. Put it all together, bit by bit. 1- they are interested in Mbeumo, newspapers were full of it May/June time. No offers or at least no official offers, Man U come in and the mags are suddenly nowhere to be seen and it's not even mentioned. 2- interest in Trafford. Rumours are that Trafford has a gentleman's agreement, similar to Jobe, where he can leave if a suitable, realistic offer comes in close to their valuation (believed to be between £40m and £55m, depending on sources). Put offers in way below anything acceptable by Burnley, the best supposed to be £27m with add ones. Now reportedly "looking at other options". 3- Agree a deal for Elanga, which is rumoured to have nearly collapsed after agreeing an acceptable fee because of the terms of payment they offered nearly had Forest pull out of the deal. 4- interest in signing Ekitike, put in low ball bids despite knowing what's acceptable. Liverpool come in and it looks like with in two days get the deal done. Now gobshite sites like TBR football are reporting the mags "walked away" because the fee was "too high" and "no formal discussions" took place. Hmm 5- After losing out on Ekitike, suddenly today they get linked to Benjamin Sesko and Yann Wissa. Sesko, who'd cost at least as much as Ekitike (Sesko is rumoured to be valued at at least £78m) and Wissa who's club knocked back their interest in Wissa's strike partner who they're fighting to keep. What makes them think that if Brentford are willing to sell either striker that they won't want to take the mags pants down fir ax much as they can. And if they do sell Mbeumo, are they really likely to sell their other main striker and invite a possible relegation fight? 6- Liverpool make a bid for Isak, who the mags knocked back contract negotiations last year and now they claim is a £100m + player, but on a deal that doesn't reflect that. Rumours have been around for months that if the mags didn't get Champions League football this season, he wanted away. The fans even made a big thing about his tifo to show much they loved him when those rumours began to circulate. Reject the bids and have it in the media that the chairman is very upset at Liverpool trying to sign Isak and has instructed Saudi teams not to buy Nunez or other Liverpool players as it "helps them". (I'm sure a smart lawyer for Liverpool could cause all kinds of problems for the mags and the Saudis over that). 6- claim it's a cunning plan, that you weren't interested in Ekitike but tricked Liverpool into buying him so you'd keep Isak and that they'd have to sell and you buy Harvey Elliott from them. Why would they sell a player to you and you're "highly upset" at them and won't help them? 7- if a player of Harvey Elliott's quality becomes available, he's going to have A LOT of admirers, here and abroad. Why do you think you'll get him easily and cheaply? On the club side it's a bit of a mess, transfer dealings are definitely flawed and not being handled well. There's plenty of time for them to put things right before the window closes, but if it carries on they could definitely be in a worse position than they'd thought they'd be. From the fans side, if they can't/won't see that and insist everything is brilliant, they could have a helluva shock soon. Fingers crossed!
Let's be honest, the mags served a purpose for the sports washing for a bit, but now that Saudi Arabia has the 2034 world cup, they've quite likely served their usefulness. Why bother with the mags when you've got grandiose false cities to build?
Still reakon the Saudis walk away soon enough imo. I mean world class appointments like Jack Ross tells its own story right?
It's a good move. When Howe gets binned off there's someone there within the club ready to jump straight in.
Remember when they first got took over, the chronic ran a story of who they could sign, and even had a possible line-up. They were hoping for Mbappe, Messi, Ronaldo, Van Dyke, Rodri..... They get Jack Ross.
Really? He should have got the England job. I’d be over the moon if he left them, he’s made all of their players better.
