Thankfully I don't watch the BBC (or GB News), maybe you should stop watching them as well mate. The only thing I've watched on the BBC of late is the womens football, so I saw last nights game on there, but that's because I'm a big raving ****ter. please log in to view this image
I certainly don’t. I might piss about on here but I don’t want actual ****ing Nazi’s in our government.
How many previous Labour governments have come straight in and targeted pensioners with cuts and slashed people’s benefits? I’ve only lived under one Labour government, so I don’t know. The biggest thing that’s pissing me off with Starmer is the flip flopping. Whether his decisions are popular or not, he should show some balls and actually just stick to something for once. He’s constantly changing his mind depending on backbench pressure or public opinion. That’s not a ****ing leader. It’s weakness.
Starmer's personal qualities aside, this is a far more progressive Labour government than Blairs was; nationalising the railways, the renters rights bill and leashold reform bill, the workers rights act, Great British Energy, social housing targets, these are all ambitious efforts to improve the lot of working people. Means testing the winter fuel allowance and trying to get to grips with the soaring cost of welfare might be deeply unpopular, but they are financial necessities. Personally, I'd like to see the rich taxed more, but that's an idea that always sounds great until government tries to put it into action.
Thats because we need a government with balls. We need a 5% sales tax, at least, on all assets worth over £1m. That would generate billions each year.
Well presumably Capital Gains Tax is due on the sale of all assets over a certain value. Not sure what the rate is though. Could google it I suppose. The point is, wealthy individuals do pay tax, it's international corporations that mostly seem to swerve it.
Voting age lowered to 16 Well done Sir Kier Keir Starmer says 16 and 17-year-olds are "old enough to go out to work, they are old enough to pay taxes" https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c93kkg37n3kt
Yeah that's him. Autistic animal lover, champion of wildlife, Naturewatch/Springwatch presenter and advocate for protecting Wildlife and biodiversity He gets some of the snowflakes raging But the man is a hero, next David Attenborough.
Diane Abbottt suspended from the Labour Party, don't know why, that joins all the others suspended yesterday.
You do know refugees and asylum seekers are forbidden to work legally? That's why they work "illegally" for uber etc.
it will be due to the interview she gave yesterday or more to the point publicised yesterday . It supposedly contains anti semetic statements though personally can't see it does .
It was at best very odd. She went out of her way to write to a newspaper diminishing the racism faced by Jews and Travellers. More importantly though she doesn’t want to be in a Labour government in a position to actually help her constituency rife with poverty. She wants to perpetually whinge from the outside as does Burgon and various others.
Abbott basically said black people faced worse racism than Jews and Gypsies because of their skin colour; which might be true in modern Britain, but was a dumb thing to say and not true at all about, oh I dunno, Europe in the 1930s and 40s. Not sure she should have been expelled from the Labour Party for it though. Her constituents seem to like as, as do Jeremy Corbyn’s.
no she didn't she just said it was a different form of racism as you cannot necessarily tell someone is from either of those groups but if you are black it is clear* * having said that when the racism storm about Meghan Markle i swear i didn't know she was "black"
She wrote, presumably read it back and thought it was grand to send in that Jews and Travellers face prejudice akin to that faced by redheads, apologised pretty soon after and was condemned by Jewish and Travellers leaders. And it’s good she apologised then for being so utterly ****ing thick. It’s not good she’s chosen to double down on it in the last few days hence the action taken.
