I think all the signs on Xhaka seem to be very positive. Right now that’s every single top journo we could want to report on it has. Let’s hope it accelerates tomorrow
Something about this feels off to me, it’s too public and doesn’t fit in with the secretive way we have done our business. I think there’s an ulterior motive at play. Possibly related to new contracts for all three of Xhaka, FZA, and Dan Neil.
I mentioned him as a joke when Jobe left and Napoli were linked to a couple midfielders to replace him.... whats really cool is finding out we have been asking about players of that calibre and nobody knows. Just imagine what else is going on.
You can’t keep everything under wraps. Especially not with players like Xhaka. The better they are, the higher in quality. It comes out
Also can't imagine xhaka wants a new deal, 3 years left and anything else would probably not be an upgrade from leverkusens camp.
Not every deal we do will be quiet. It’s impossible this is also. Major transfer not a youngster from Belgium
Xhaka would be thee signing of the window fast and can score goals as long as we keep Mayenda, Dan, Mundle, get another goalie and a 15 goal striker we will be o k.
It feels off because we aren't used to Sunderland doing it. I think we'll look back on this Summer and the Ghisolfi signing might be the most important one. Seems like its completely changed the game
Imagine ghisolfi and Speakman in the office with KLD today and they’re just like, give that lad who dominated midfield and who won the Serie A with Napoli a bell
That’s now Sacha, Fabrizio, Keith Downie, Sky Sports, Ben Jacobs, The Athletic all reporting on us working on a deal for Xhaka
Well actually, Fabrizio is saying we’re working on, the rest said interested (except sacha) this is progress
If he signs what do you think is the likelihood that Neil is off. That's 3, potentially 4, midfielders ahead of him in the pecking order
I tend to agree, re private business by the club, but Xhaka is news, he always was news at Arsenal and the potential of him coming back to the Premier league is big news, so you'd think a few favours may be getting called in to get a little more information than normal to snatch the "exclusive".The fact our owner is a fellow countryman of his could work in our favour too.
Potentially. Sounds like he’s not signing a new deal but I think we’d have signed Xhaka whether Neil is here or not
One thing is it shows the club aren’t putting all their eggs in one basket. we’re working on Xhaka whilst also contacting top players imagine what’s going on for other positions
