I'll take on Fairy Oak in the opener at Leopardstown. At a shade of odds on there are a few reasons to take her on. 2nd on debut she then finished fifth in the Albany at Royal Ascot. I give a chance to Joseph O 'Brien' s colt Melismatic. The son of Space Blues was second to Daytona on debut and was given a Racing Post rating of 87,which is quite good on a first visit to a racecourse. The winner of that race went in again next time in a Listed contest, so the form looks solid. Fairy Oak was rated 80 after her first start so any improvement from Melismatic won't leave him with that much to find. Of course Fairy Oak could improve again but probably needs to to warrant the short odds today and has been priced as if it is guaranteed, rather than possible. Newcomer Yellowstone Lake has been well supported but will need to be quite smart to score first time and will likely need to run in the 90's on ratings to land this. 16.45 Leopardstown Melismatic 5/1 Win only for me but surely a sound each-way at 5/1
