He'll be sold. A shame really as Gruev is massively underrated. We always look much more solid when he plays. He's a very intelligent footballer. His lack of pace and physicality would be exposed in the PL but he has been an outstanding player for what we needed. We should make a profit on him too. Clubs in Germany have shown interest in the past.
Agree with the above. I’d be happy if he stayed as squad player. Looks awkward but tidy in possession, reads the game well, always puts a shift in. We were much better away from home with him/amps than rothwell/tanaka. It’s World Cup year - imagine he’ll want to be playing
I think if we’re in for Kiliscoy at 17m we won’t be getting Muniz/Beto, well more likely get Kiliscoy akingside a Calvert/Wilson to save money. If we get Muniz for 30-40m, we won’t be getting Kiliscoy as well. 3 man midfield or fighting for his place. Same with Ampadu. If Ampadu and Tanaka are good enough they’ll start, if they aren’t it’ll be the other two and rightly so. Could even be Stach and Ampadu away and one of them and Tanaka/Longstaff at home. It also means that we aren’t throwing all our squad under the bus and expecting them to perform at the highest level and they can be rotated or eased into the league. Only if we get Stach. Even though I think 5 CMs for 2 spots is okay for the PL, especially with Struijk and Ampadu injuries last season.
Can't see kiliscoy being a trustworthy link. He's too young, got no top level experience and is too expensive a gamble in a key position. It doesn't make sense and therefore is likely bollocks.
What’s the point of this post? We’ve agreed personal terms with a quality player, it means we either love wasting time or we’re hoping to sign him and he’d be open to joining
I agree to an extent but agreeing terms with the player means he is open to coming here. Its a major hurdle but it's one of many.
Oh lord has cuckoo been given its keyboard back after six months in the special coat cuddling itself?
Yes it is, and often agreeing terms with the selling club can be trumped by the player not wishing to join your club. Never-the-less, agreeing personal terms doesn't mean anything by itself. Think if Real Betis agreed personal terms with Joseph - I think that would make Leeds LESS likely to agree to a compromise deal. Frankly, I don't think Leeds would negotiate personal terms before a transfer was agreed and it's just the agent trying to force the deal through.
Agreeing personal terms is a strong indication that the clubs are already in talks regarding the fee. The selling club give permission for their player to negotiate his side whilst they sort the fee out. It streamlines the deal and makes it faster for everyone.
Yes it might be. A better indicator would be if it were announced that the selling club had given permission for the buying club to talk to the player* Right now there's nothing from Hoffenheim, so I fear it's just the agent trying to force through agreement. *Even better if it came from the selling club.
I wrote your response on a bit of paper and sealed it in an envelope an hour ago. Jan has just reluctantly given me the tenner I have just won
