FFS. What’s with these injuries? I rate Max a little higher than you do RP but absolutely totally agree we needed to strengthen in that area. We have bought, but not strengthened. SOOO frustrating.
We got Lumley on a free, they knew of O'leary's injury and went for a joke keeper. Utter madness not to spend big on a keeper. SOOO short-sighted.
How many years does it take a normal leadership to realize that they have a major issue with our current #1 goal keeper? Due to the age of a good goalie not being an issue is the reason why there is normally a glut of good keepers up for grabs as clubs tend to go with the younger breed if they have one in stock that can meet the needs. Max's unreliability has long been a concern as his distribution can be very poor and at times quite unbelievable and he does get flustered when we play tip-tap football right in front of him, but another issue for discussion once the season gets under way. It would appear that all in the organization look the other way when it comes to spending good money on a good goalie because we already have it sorted with Max as number one choice by someone who should know better.
It will be interesting to see what this kid can do this season. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/a-cut-above-what-bristol-10345090
It does sound a positive albeit in a league below us. Fingers crossed Supcon we have a good one to look forward to. Can't help thinking, until we shut the back door we'll just tread water at best.
This has been known for ages, through most of the backend of last season at least. They should be relegated, and whoever was in the last relegation place, Luton, I think should stay up
if there is any parity with the EFL then they have to step in and do something regarding players wages/ fee's etc they should be told [ happened to many others ] no ins any form! FFP IF PAST THE THRESH HOLD THEN MAXIMUM POINTS DEDUCTION .......to late to relegate them now so maybe a 20 points deduction or what is maximum. cynical but go in for any player that would benefit us!!!!
And some of our fans go mad that we are not spending money all the time. And wondering why we sell all the time!

Squad fitness update Bristol City can provide an update on the squad as the pre-season training camp in Portugal concludes. Gerhard Struber’s side have been monitored closely throughout the week, with training being adapted to suit the progress of each squad member. Joe Williams and Max Bird have progressed well in their individual programmes and the medical team are hopeful they will be available for the start of the season. Cam Pring sustained an ankle injury in training and will be assessed back in Bristol. The club can also confirm Luke McNally did not travel to Portugal after suffering a minor setback in his recovery from tearing his ACL. Max O’Leary has had surgery on his ankle and is set to be out action for three to four months. Head of Medical Paul Tanner said: “It has been important to keep a close eye on the players here in Portugal. “We are pleased to have seen progress from some of the lads carrying injuries from last season this week and we are hopeful they will be ready for the start of the new campaign. Pring’s injury is an unfortunate one and one we will need to look at when we return. “Individual rehab plans are in place for the longer-term injuries, and we will continue to monitor their progress to try and get them back to action as soon as possible.” https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/squad-fitness-update/
