I was reading a piece yesterday about an Israeli reservist who shot himself in the head because he could not face being deployed in Gaza again. Lots of these young men taking their own lives are people who would otherwise be doing their studies or working in a cafe. Tragic waste of life. Sent into a warzone by a psychopath who doesn't care one jot for any life, whether it's Jewish or Islamic. They are just fodder. You can only imagine the situation that is on the ground in Gaza, and whilst some on here make jokes about children being blown to pieces whilst queueing for water, if they were actually put in those situations themselves, they would understand the horror of what it means to see mangled little bodies strewn around the streets and the psychological damage that does. Imagine being the parent who has to gather the remains of your child And imagine being the soldier who was in part responsible for that. It's no wonder loads of reservists are turning their back on this barbaric conflict or worse still topping themselves instead of being sent back.
I wonder about CK too Can a man who makes a joke about kids being dismembered in front of their parents.... actually be a parent ?
Tbh mate, I've been saying this **** for ages about Ukraine, young men dragged off the street and forced to go to the frontline. Why should the thought process be any different for them - defending their country maybe, but maybe that young man who was also studying in the cafe, didn't hate Putin in the same way that the EU and NATO did. Maybe some Ukranians don't mind living with Russians, therefore really don't care enough who rules them. Afterall a lot of it will be down to their location and geography in Ukraine, of course there will be millions that may hate Putin, but likewise there maybe millions who don't. This situation is not just unique to Gaza on that level.
Something iffy about CK, his remarks sometimes seem miles away from his knowledge. He has a wealth of knowledge regarding the area, but comes out with some crass remarks sometimes. Probably end up finding out he's Trebs or Spurly's sock account. @luvgonzo don't do that anymore.

I can't make out what it is with CK, he has all this knowledge but seems to treat this war as a joke at times. Yeah we are all here for a laugh, but he seems to disappear at odd but very noticable times. Whereas BWood is always here to take the flack. He's the sort of guy if you were on the ground fighting Hamas, his knowledge might be handy, but don't trust him to cover your back. In fact he'd probably make a league table of how many bullets his companions took individually.
