Its the pace of his sprint Honestly, his running ability was like a 50 year old fans Shelveys coasted on his very good technical ability in his career Hes def the most unfit, slow player ive seen in a city shirt By the time he gets up to full speed, the balls 50 yards away
Seems like Phillips has taken #12, Ajayi has taken #16, Drameh switched to #18 from #23, Joseph switched to #22 from #28 and Crooks switched from #24 to #25 (seems to prefer #25 judging by his career). Cartwright wore #1 but Pandur is apparently playing on Saturday so not permanent (his regular number is #34).
I just read someone on Twitter say he knew he was right to back Joseph all last year , now I didn’t watch todays game but even if he had scored 9 goals today , it still doesn’t mean they were right to back him , they may get proved right next season , but not today ,
He looks likes hes done some serious gym work during his holidays Looks much stronger The goal means nothing, maybe itll give him confidence though Burstow was really really poor though Not sure why, but he looked lost and that he couldnt be bothered to make any effort or runs
If his attitude and dedication was better, he would’ve had more caps for England. He was probably the best long-range passer in the Prem for a few years. He’s 33-years-old now and I can’t remember a single time in his career when he got himself properly in shape. Even if he wanted to, he couldn’t cover every blade of grass because he doesn’t take care of himself. He doesn’t have the stamina or discipline to get fit.
Though this is obviously true, there is the odd time when a young player stakes a claim in pre-season and I hope we get to see a bit more of Pharrell Brown in the upcoming games.
Boss Sergej Jakirovic also hopes to have Steven Alzate and Gustavo Puerta back to face Shota Arveladze's side after the pair missed the clash with Istanbulspor at the club's training base in Riva. "We will see our medical checks, but it (Coyle's injury) was a hamstring, I think," the Bosnian told Hull Live. "It came after one sprint, but we will see after with the medical staff. He told me that he felt something there, and we will see. "Alzate had some kind of problem with his calf, and because of that, we didn't want to risk it with him and Gustavo had a problem with his head. I think if both of them can make training over the next couple of days then they have a good chance of being involved on Saturday." Jakirovic declared himself pleased with the manner of the comeback, especially after conceding on the stroke of half-time. He praised teenager Cathal McCarthy for his first senior outing in midfield and Kyle Joseph, who netted the equaliser. "Yes, of course (winning is a good habit), especially because we are working very hard and we see we have some very heavy legs today," he continued. "We also had a few problems before this game with Gustavo, so we didn't have so many options in the midfield, but Cathal McCarthy played very, very nicely. I'm very happy because Kyle scored the goal. This is for me very, very good. "Before their goal, we had some opportunities or some transitions with bad decisions, with maybe technical issues, but of course, after the second half, they responded good and this is good psychologically for us." I just read another report and thought I remembered correctly. When McCarthy was signed we signed another lad at the same time, Hugh Parker... anyone any insight into how he's progressed..?
I hope a couple come good and it does happen I have a lot of positives to say about City in general but in this instance we see players, like Jarvis for example, make a splash in the pre season and now struggle to make it at league 2.
You could make a decent XI of players we've got overly excited about pre-season performances of. Definitely Jarvis and George Cox in there. Jerome Thomas also.
