Thought he was really, really poor personally. But I guess that's what you get with career championship players
Nobody is dying on a hill. Don’t be having a second flounce of the day, man. Jim said he’d be the best midfielder we could sign this summer. I’m just querying that
I’m not sure he left the PL because of the pace his final season was arguably his best in the league and then he went too early Germany ffs! One of the fastest leagues in the world
I’m just saying, you quickly flopped from “I don’t want another midfielder” to “is this one really the best we can sign?” it’s like you’re constantly looking for an angle to provoke consensus. And I get it’s good to have alternative perspectives but it’s a bit repetitive
Think that’s partly where my doubts come from tbh. There can be no business that he could possibly finish with Sunderland. He might fancy us given the range of options he has available to him, but let’s not get daft. Just have to hope his intrinsic motivation is enough to keep him on it.
You aren’t comparing Xhaka to Browne here surely? Xhaka is a proven top level player in major leagues and international football. Browne is. Well, Browne. We absolutely cannot buy far above Xhaka right now. Above Xhaka is elite level, 50million plus realistically. He’s a playmaking CM who can play all 3 positions in there and play them well, he is a ball winner and a leader. He would be a stunning signing, an eyebrows fly off the face signing, at this stage. Next year we get Barella and Camavinga.
Hahaha. What on earth? I just don’t fancy Xhaka as a signing I’m gonna thrap off over. That’s all it is - and I acknowledge I may well be totally wrong. Similar to when everyone was getting frothy over Angelino and I don’t fancy it. But don’t worry, I’ll make sure to pm you first next time, lad.
Anyways to get back on track, if we sign xhaka would we rather win the fa cup this season or nothing but qualify for Europa League?
Levels mate. And I like Browne. Risks with every single signing so far. Even Le Fee. This would be the lowest risk signing so far imo.
FA Cup easy for me. I’d love to see us in Europe but FA Cup feels like a generational thing. And it would qualify us for the Europa league anyway.
My life wish is a European tour. The fact the FA Cup gets you in the Europa makes the answer easy though….
I thought Browne was a great signing, thought he would provide great squad depth and bring quality leadership skills - he might not have impacted on the pitch as much as he would like but was still a value player However, it's mental comparing his signing to yhe potential signing of Xhaka This is a guy who played at the top of the PL, and was arguably their best midfielder the season he left when they finished 2nd. Goes to germany and absolutely smashes it, would run the show for then against even the elite sides
