If you asked anyone when we beat sheff united that we may sign granit xhaka theyd laugh in ya face haway man hes next level for us. Hardly missed a game for leverkusen last season and the season before that they went the season unbeaten to win the league
He’s 32, no age nowadays. Season before last he was key in a dominant and stunning Leverkusen side. We are asking is he good enough to help us finish 17th, and emphatically he is.
Browne was okay, a little unlucky with the injury early in the season. Still contributed to a promotion winning side
I believe so mate, he’s a next level signing and absolutely walks into our team. 250+ appearances for Arsenal and played consistently for Leverkusen who are a very good side. Only 32 aswell so not like he’s ancient or finished at all.
@Frazier the Lion Out of curiosity, if he's not the best we can get. Who do you think is - be a good gauge of what level you think we can attract.
for under £10m I’d say so personally. and what a weird hill to die on? Why does he have to be the absolute best to be a good signing?
Can someone explain to me what this "unfinished business" is that Xhaka has in the Premier League that he can "finish" with Sunderland? It's such a lazy clichè.
Xhaka would honestly be a different level signing, so much so I just can't see it happening (really hope I'm wrong) His last season at arsenal he was immense, 14 g/a in the PL and only 4 bookings (folk keep thinking he's a walking yellow card) Then goes over to Germany and gets 12 g/a against the league seasons, with only 8 yellow cards to his name. He would carry a very good Leverkusen team at times, especially the season they won the double Honestly to even be linked wiyh him is totally ridiculous, turns 33 in Sept but he's such a fit lad and reads the game brilliantly Then he's got genuine top draw leadership skills and a will to win that would rub off on others By far the best player we've been linked with and would elevate our team so much
The Saudi club involved pulled out and moved onto Tolisso. It was reported a few minutes after us being in talks
