Sacha tweeted that NEOM has setbacks with Xhaka. Maybe it could be further on than we thought

 

I think it’s very specific that sacha says we’re in contact through KLD. Not just regular means

The optimist in me says that talk of the deal to Neom stalling today and then Sacha being so specific in his tweet - KLD personally dealing with it, 3 year deal etc makes me think (hope) this is quite far progressed.

Feels like a perfect, almost fantasy signing.

 

Possibly the only other option being Saudi, then coming back to the premier league is a step up than that.

Xhaka doesn't have the right sort of character to play for the Lads. Said nobody ever.

 

He's done it at the top end of the Prem, I don't see what attraction we would be. Saudi/Turkey etc. is big money and semi retirement.

 

What a 3 that sounds.

 

I must be the only one on here who isn’t totally sold on Xhaka. It depends on which one we get - the calmer version or the walking red card of old. He left the pace of the PL for a reason I expect. And I’d worry about his motivation to perform at the other end of the prem too. I’m sure I’m just overly nervous - and truth be told I’d have been okay with us taking on the first half of the season with our current five - but I wonder about the risk profile of it all. It’s gonna be a lot financially and would be tough for us to sideline him if he doesn’t work out.
