Fair enough, but my point still stands. Having someone at the back with a good amount of experience at a high level will be important this season.
Agree or its actually further along than it's being made out and the club are confident it's going to be done I've watched Bologna quite a lot, like watch Feeguson play from a Scottish point of view, and this lad doesn't massively stand out. But that's a very good thing, he does most things very well, and seems really good positionally and can pass through the lines. There's certain positions you scout where you don't want them to 'stand out' and CB is one of them. This could be a very very smart signing and still gives us room to go sign another quality CB
Gonna simmer me hopes because he’s one of the most consistent centre backs in the Serie a. Not gonna get devoted to him till it’s more advanced haha
That's boring Cam, get devoted to him and let's get excited Then he doesn't join we'll just say we will sign better, he's just not cut out for English football, he's not that good anyway or f**k him he's clearly after the money
Explorative talks, long standing interest, no bids… Could be wrong but feels to me like a bit more smoke and mirrors
Hope not. Quality centre back. Might be getting out early as his clause ends soon and we might be tempted to trigger it?
My optimistic side is that Keith is just tweeting to keep up with Romano, and has tagged on the El Khannouss story from earlier. If the club were using Keith to play down Romano's original tweet, I think he'd have been stronger and said language along the lines of "not advanced" and "other options" etc, like he has for El Khannouss
I think it was a translation error the other way. I.e. we have been in contact but offered less than the clause, and Bologna didn't want to sell for less before it expired in case someone came in and offered the full amount.
Sunderland considering opening bid for Lucumi Latest from Sky Sports News' Keith Downie: Sunderland are considering making a bid for Bologna centre back Jhon Lucumi. The Colombia international is on the newly-promoted club’s radar and talks are taking place. Lucumí has 29 caps for Colombia.
