Yeah they can be pretty spotty with rumour stuff, I'm sure we like him but feel like he isnt the ideal profile - imo at least
The fact the El Khanous interest is coming from the Leicester end, with Rob Dorsett reporting it and not Keith, suggests to me Leicester know they're going to be selling and want a bidding war.
I honestly think with the fixtures coming out it really forced our hand to get the majority of our business done early. Those first 3 games are going to be so crucial in my opinion. We really need to be as strong as possible whilst hopefully those 3 are still trying to assemble their squads. If we get 7 or hell even 9 points from those first 3 games then we have given ourselves such a headstart. I agree it's right to wait for the correct target but the way the fixtures have fallen we really need to have our business done and ideally bedded in before the West Ham game as I firmly believe this gives us optimum chance of survival. Maybe I'm putting to much weight into it but from those 3 games this is my opinion 0-3 points. We go down 4-5 points. We are in the fight 6-9 points. We stay up
ok just watched and El Khannouss video and can see where he'd fit now, in the "Rigg" role (sorry Felltop I know you hate that...). The shape would need to tweak slightly to move the Rigg role to the left hand side to make the best use of his ability Do we know if he's good enough defensively / off the ball to play that role and not be a passenger?
We need enough time to get one and integrate one I agree then maybe one further ahead . In my view we’re not past that point yet.
Sunderland monitoring Leicester's El Khannouss Latest from Sky Sports News' Keith Downie and Rob Dorsett: A number of clubs in Europe and the Premier League - including Sunderland - are monitoring the situation with Leicester winger Bilal El Khannouss. It's thought Sunderland have admired the player since March, but have a number of alternative options they are considering in wide attacking areas. Leicester are realistic in their understanding that they need to sell some players to meet their PSR obligations.
Your overarching point is absolutely right but I can't agree with the final definition that the outcomes of those 3 games will decide the whole season. We need to ensure we stay on an even keel if we win all 3 and not panic if we lose all 3.
Its a bit of a throwaway line that can get lost but its nice to see Keith suggest we will sign another winger (presumably a right one)
