If it was Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, Juventus........ I could see it happening. I just don't believe for 1 second we'd sell to Liverpool. Their owners have done nowt but hinder our owners since pre-takeover. WTF would we do business with them to strengthen someone we want to be direct rivals for the title with within a couple of years?
Lol, I don't think many players go around shouting they're staying during the window, they just go on holiday and chill. We clearly need another striker with Wilson gone (we needed one before he was gone too as he did nothing), Isak can't be expected to play 60+ games, nor can Ekitike if he comes. Rotation and systems playing together sometimes. The news of this signing was always going to set social media alight and get them speculating about Isak.
I'll refer everyone to what our owner Yasir Al-Rummayan said back in March. Isak is not for sale at any price. When he says that then we will not be selling Isak especially not to a Premier League rival. This has been deliberately sensationalised to be more than it actually is. Liverpool contacted the club to test our position. We told them not for sale. End of the matter. Isak is not for sale, is happy and has said so on numerous occasions.
This. I agree. I can’t see it happening out of principle. The money would be good but the quality of the player would elevate Liverpool and that’s not happening. I reckon it’s more likely Gordon if I am honest.
We are not selling anyone to Liverpool. I think the fact that they are one of the cartel clubs just makes our owners more determined not to do business with them.
I also don't see Gordon leaving, he's a key player for us. We can sign players without others leaving, and shifting the ones we don't want is the priority before selling off obvious assets.
Yes, I firmly believe Isak is happy here, but being happy here might not be enough for him. Isak, or the club, need to close this down now (I know they’ve said it in the past), by reiterating that he is going nowhere.
Situation has improved for him, now has his Swedish bro Elanga giving him crosses, also Ekitike to give him rest at some point (he was clearly knackered at some points last year). No bids and nothing officially said, it's just big standard social media bores trying to drum up hits and views by speculating about Isak just cos we're buying a striker. Last week social media was taking about Isak being sold and DCL coming in as the replacement.
Liverpool make enquiry. We tell them not for sale. Liverpool leak that they have made an enquiry to reassure their fans that they are looking for a top striker. They also do it in the hope that it unsettles Isak. Liverpool fans swallow it up. It's a non-story. All it's going to do is piss NUFC and Isak off.
Everyone wants Isak, Liverpool hardly need to make him aware of that. Isak seems pretty balanced and won't take notice, he's not a Joey Barton type clown who's always on social media.
